Making Art

Hey guys,
so ive been around the Fan Art Shops and stuff and I was inspired to start making banners and userbars and stuff.
Slight problem tho:
i dont know how to do any of that stuff
So could all you friendly artists out there tell me how please?

I own a Art Shop but its currently closed and I make animation icons, such as these:

I use paint to make them and use a website to animate them, liek put them in frames

For the banners, I simply use Photoshop, some people here uses GIMP or GIMPS (Somewhere between these two) to use for free

For the Userbars, I just go to a website for the base and slap sprites in there.. for static userbars
