If someone mocked Jesus, of COURSE it would offend me. However, would I attack them? No. You have to understand that America is built around freedom of expression. not everyone is going to share your beliefs. You have to learn to put up with it.

Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you does not mean attack them

Religious freedom in the Muslim religion they kill you if you make an image of Muhhamad, its in theyre religion. Be lucky the athiest got a way with a minor beating.

Really, so your God utterly lacks of a sense of humor? Come now, I think that any God would certainly be able to understand a joke, and they might even find it funny. I've certainly found people mocking me funny at times.

Im sure God will think its funny if you dress up to make an image of him when he said not to

We have freedom of religion. That doesn't mean I can make a religion where it is perfectly okay to kill everyone and then go on a shooting rampage, and simply say it was my religion.

Your freedoms stop when they impede on someone else's.

Exactly never offend people by their own believe , cultures , habits and customs. What made the judge considered that case a bit pushing was the direct assault.

No this is not how it works the only thing that drove the man nuts is being offended
Seriously? America is an open country? Yes he's exceuse was pretty weak but still touching.

Thank you, for understanding it is wrong to make fun of Religions.

Another one of these replies, he didnt say to stop eaither. I really do not like liberals like you people, if you do things like this you will be punished no if ands or buts this guy ran out of rights when he walked by a zombie Pope as a zombie Muhhamad, if you a Christian how does that not offend you, it probably does. But when something offends an athiest the world blows up to them 'ohh no you cant have that banner in school/or that cross on the air force symbol"

Save your offense for something important. Some guy dressing up as a zombie pope... I don't care, especially since as a Presbyterian I really don't consider the pope to be the holy figure that Catholics find him to be.

You should stick to being offended by places in the world that are actually against Christianity in a big way. Atheist guys poking fun at Christians and mocking their belief? Well, I don't care for it, but it's essentially harmless stuff. It's not worth getting offended over.

What is more appropriate to getting offended over? I'd say thatChristian slaves being crucified for their belief, for example, is the sort of thing that's really offensive.

But you're just a troll, anyway.

Probably, I mean, have you ever seen parents crack up after they tell their 8 year old not to try putting on lipstick but the kid does it anyway?

Oh, my God has a sense of humor for sure. Or at least a sense for the ironic.

With him, opposites attract for one.

I'm the same way as you. I am more non-denominational. I go to a Nazarene church right now. and I completely agree with your second point. getting up in arms about Atheists poking fun at religion is unnecessary

For one of my college classes I had to read "God's Problem" by Bart Ehrman. Was I offended by it? Of course. Did I go attack the author? No. I wrote and essay on it debate his points with my beliefs. that is the proper way to respond to an atheist. Not physical violence.

Running around as zombie Jesus during Mardi Gras, getting free beads and pretend to bite people and also heal them. Good stuff.

Edit: Btw, does anyone really know truly that the guy who running around as a Zombie Muhammad is a Atheist? I don't think he claim himself as an atheist as far a I read.

To the contrary, you appear to be just about the only person getting inordinately upset by this sort of thing. The rest of us accept that it's just something that happens when we have the freedoms of speech and religion, while you seem to think that folks should be able to beat up an atheist for expressing their (lack of) belief just because you get so offended by it.

I do not think there is a single country sticking against Christianity nowadays so this is not the case ,It seems you people are missing one important point in particular ,I could care less about those non-believer but making fun at others? No he's to pay the price wether he was pointing his fingers at whatsoever? After all Christanity+Islam+Judaism are celestial religions no one can hold a candle against that. And Remember this is AMERICA!

There are a number of countries' sticking against Christianity' in today's day. In many Islamic societies, Christians are second-class citizens, and people who convert Muslims/are converted from Islam have a tendency to wind up executed. In North Korea, Christians (while officially tolerated) have about a quarter of their population in labor camps for not engaging in the cult of its leaders, and are very much persecuted against... There are plenty of cases all over the world, you only need to search for them.

Would you mind restating what your argument was, again? I'm not clear what you meant exactly, though I think it was something along the lines of that he 'got what was coming to him' for doing this?

For Muslims, that's not an expression of freedom of religion. They condemn murder. This coming from someone who's not religious. Don't stereotype, we'd like to avoid that. Ignorance is what brought that atheist the trouble he got.

waffle, you appear to have completely misunderstood my statement. I was explaining that just because a Religion says it is okay does not make it okay to do something. I was not saying Islam condones murder.

My point was that the Muslim man did not have the right to attack the Atheist for what he perceived to be an insult.

Muslim judge rules in favor of the Muslims. Homosexual judge rules in favor of homosexuals. See a pattern?

Too bad there can be no judge unbiased, that doesn't exist.
