Fame is just used in rank ups, since if it is gonna be used for currency, it'll be too complex to work out how many people have how much fame and all that.

Ah...I see. I'm going to be working on the 'mustang' shiny challenge. Is there going to be more breeding/RNG challenges?
Also, I'm a breeder...so the breeding challenge can't be done unless people know I'm a breeder. Is there an official list for that?
