As you saw with Pokémon like Scyther and Golurk, Gou isn't going to be catching Pokémon so easily every time, heck, he wasted all of his Pokéballs on a Dewgong and he'll come across Pokémon that will be even tougher and stronger. I mean if Gou catches Legendary and Mythical Pokémon, I highly doubt the writers will have it happen by Gou just throwing a Pokéball at it, I'm sure there's going to be an extremely tough and almost impossible fight involved.

Plus in episode 13 Gou actually wanted to battle a Gigantamax Drednaw along with Ash, he refused to stand back when Ash told him to, showing that Gou is slowly getting into battling and thus meaning that Scorbunny needs to learn new attacks if Gou wants to get far, the same goes for all his other Pokémon.

You are forgetting he caught a Zen mode Darmanitan(with Overheat at that) without battling that too in a single try. They need to be more consistent with his captures.

Sure the bunny need a new move so that it can hit Ghost types but don't expect too much out of it. Go will still capture Pokemon without battling or befriending.

^Consistency is key, but let's not forget that at times in the games you can catch a Pokémon without battling first. It's not too far a stretch of the imagination to see Go catching Pokémon easily in some cases and with difficulty in others.

Yeah, compare and contrast Dewgong and Darmanitan.

The former took several attempts while the later was one shot.

Pokémon Go can be similar in this regard. A strong pokémon can be caught with one throw while a weak one takes several tries.
