• Hi all
Just a notice, we recently discovered that someone got into a moderator account and started hard deleting a load of key and legacy threads...around 150 threads have been lost dating back to 2007 and some weeks ago so we can't roll the forums back.
Luckily no personal data could be accessed by this moderator, and we've altered the permissions so hard deleting isn't possible in the future
Sorry for any inconvenience with this and sorry for any lost posts.

Hopefully the new series has more different aged pokemon. Captain Pikachu should have been older.

Well ladies, gentlemen, and all the beautiful people in between, this is it. As I retire to sleep this evening, I do so knowing that things will have changed forever once I wake.

In spite of everything, I’m glad to have followed the journey of Ash Ketchum these past 25 years. It wasn’t perfect, far from it, but man was it a blast. Although I’m looking forward, I can’t help but mourn what I’m leaving behind in this moment.

I’m proud to be here with all you fellow crazy, forum-dwelling people on this momentous occasion. Whether you’re sticking with us for the adventures of Liko and Roy, or jumping off this ride altogether, I wish you all the very best (like no one ever was). I bid you adieu.

You don’t have to go home, but you can’t stay here.

I'm not getting off just yet, still have to wait for the dub to finish. Plus I have to ride with Liko and Roy at least once.

Break the Limit
I don’t know what the future holds and that in and of itself can make one nervous, but what I do know is my time with Ash has been something very personal to me. No matter what I was going through in my life through the ups and downs, there was Ash, still showing up every week on some new adventure, a comforting constant in my life especially from 2013 onward as I graduated high school and was still finding my way in life.

Thank you Tomioka, Iwane, Matsuri, Yajima, Rica, ikue Otani and all the other staff and seeiyu’s that out everything into this endless weekly adventure

And on the other side of the pond thank you Veronica Taylor, Sarah Natochenny, Rachael Lillis, Eric Stuart, and all the English dub voice actors that defined a lot of my childhood growing up

Thank you Ash and Pikachu, Gotta Catch ‘Em All/Getto Daze!!

As someone who's been watching Pokemon since they were 7-8 years old and are now 20 gonna turn 21 this year...... This hits hard

Around 8 hours left to go....Thank you Ash and Pikachu for everything.....goodbye
I'm 25 and I essentially don't have memories before the anime lol, my mom had no idea that she was setting me down a path that looks like it will last my whole life when she rented the vhs tape with the island of giant pokemon.

Life doesn’t end, …it changes.
Thank you Ash and Pikachu, as well as the other characters and events that gave me so many fond memories and every emotion in between. It’s a surreal feeling to see it end but I’m ready to say goodbye to Ash and Pikachu. Been watching since 1998/1999 and I never thought I’d see their journey conclude. My absolute favorite cartoon that’s a part of me and will always hold love in my heart!

Oh good one, I also had that VHS, great episodes in it.

Man.

This is a post I legitimately never thought I’d write. The Pokémon anime, and the series as a whole, has given me so much to the point where I consider it a part of my identity. It’s my favorite series period, and the anime has played an astronomically large part in my love for Pokémon. Seeing Ash’s unchanging (well, maybe slightly ;)) face with Pikachu right by his side as I grew up was a relief, that as much as the world changed they would always be as they were, the ultimate comfort. And in a sense they will still be, because Ash’s journey will never end. There’s always more to see, and more to achieve. That’s a lesson I think everyone who grew up watching the show can agree on.

So much love and gratitude to everyone involved in the anime for so many years! Rica, Ikue Ohtani, Veronica Taylor, Sarah Natochenny, Tomioka, Iwane, the list goes on and on. Their work has meant so much to so many people and I truly feel so much joy when I see how proud they are to be involved. I’m proud to be a Pokémon fan, and to have witnessed this grand journey.

Bewear is the most powerful being in the universe.
Ash is the one who got me into Pokémon. I first got interested by the books chronicling his original adventures in Kanto, and to this day I remember being an elementary schooler and seeing that original book, with “I choose you!” and a picture of our favorite duo on the cover, on the shelf at the library. It was that story that opened up this world for me. I never would’ve become a Pokémon fan otherwise.

This was around the time of Sinnoh League Victors, and I remember quickly catching up and following the climactic showdown between Ash and Paul in real time on the internet (although I didn’t watch it for a few years, long story). BW came and went, and I spent my attention more on the manga and the games, but I really got back into the anime with XY(Z). Some of my favorite high school memories were waking up early to watch the Kalos League (still salty about that loss) live. To this day, the closing scene of XYZ, where the journey is recapped, makes me tear up.

I’m now a senior in college, about to graduate in a month. And I can’t believe that tomorrow is going to be the last day that I’ll ever wake up to a new adventure featuring Ash and Pikachu. With everything that’s changed, that was something that always stayed the same. Every Friday (barring the hiatus during Covid), I’d always wake up to see either the episode or view the recap. And I loved following the threads here, both in the spoilers and the after-episode discussion forums. For me, Ash and Pikachu moving on is honestly one of the bigger “wow, things really are changing this year, aren’t they” moments. They might move on, and so must I, all three of us to our next adventure.

Thank you, Ash and Pikachu, for entertaining, inspiring, and always being there for me for 15 years. Thank you to everyone responsible for producing this show, both the original and the cub- for making something that I can rewatch a million times and eventually, show my children, so they can grow up with Ash and Pikachu like I did. And thank you, everyone, for being so awesome here. I’m excited to see where the new series goes and can’t wait to share the excitement of the new chapter of Pokémon with you all.

NEXT TIME- A NEW BEGINNING!

Humans are tools
For some reason this doesn't feel like ash's last episode it looks very normal no major program, no videos showing his best moments no marketing nothing.
