In the previous chapter, Nemona was actually calling Scarlet, so the "Penny" kidnapped by the Team Star rebels was actually Scarlet in disguise. However, Nemona was unaware of this.
Nemona arrives in Montenevera. Ryme, having heard about a battle with wild Pokémon, investigates the scene and finds Penny's Eevee evolutions left behind. At this moment, Grusha arrives and gives Nemona Scarlet's Rotom phone.
Cassiopeia called Scarlet, and Nemona then learned that Scarlet was the one who had been kidnapped. Unable to track them via cell phone, Cassiopeia guessed they might attack the remaining two Team Star bases that hadn't been defeated yet, and deduced from the taxi's route that they were heading to Caph Squad's Base led by Eri.
Nemona planned to head to the base in North Province Area Two. Ryme and Grusha were worried about letting her travel alone in the snow mountain, so Grusha personally led Nemona there with his Cetitan.
Penny wanted to leave academy but stumbled upon Miriam and Dendra arguing. Miriam thought Dendra's sandwich might upset Saguaro's stomach. Dendra, however, thought it wouldn't be a problem for Saguaro and that he could definitely digest it.
Saguaro then wanted to let Penny to try it, but Penny was dumbfounded when she saw the sandwich Dendra had made—a hamburger patty sandwich filled with meat and no vegetables. Miriam then told Penny to leave quickly, while Penny didn't know Miriam because the person Miriam had met before was Scarlet disguised as Penny.
Violet and Arven were being attacked by Veluza and were feeling exhausted. Suddenly, a Dondozo appeared below them and nearly swallowed them whole. Luckily, a passing taxi driver saved them.
They asked the driver for information about the False Dragon Titan. Besides providing his eyewitness accounts, the driver also warned them about the many Tatsugiri on a nearby island and advised them to be careful. Violet think Tatsugiri is no big deal, but Old Roto warned him not to underestimate this Pokémon. Violet and Arven then imagined Tatsugiri eating people. The driver reminded them that the Tatsugiri there would approach humans and try to talk to them, but they should never respond, or they would suffer.
Upon arriving on the island, they indeed encountered a group of Tatsugiri. The Old Roto noticed the strange stakes they had encountered before nearby. Just then, a Tatsugiri calling out "Taitaaan" approached them, and Violet couldn't help but respond.
