hello there, I started my emerald game over, and I'm at the mauville gym. problem is, I chose treecko for my starter, (called him bronco for god-knows-what-reason) and The only ground move I have is my aron with mud-slap. i'm getting my butt kicked, any help?

JohtoBlaziken

I dunno lol
What a predicament...

I hated that gym in emerald...But maybe that's because I tried to train my team evenly on that file. Helluva mistake that was. Aron was my only grounder too.

First, you should see if you can teach it any more ground moves, like rock tomb. Rock tomb should help when you're against that pesky Magneton. If you want a stronger ground move for your Aron, I suggest you look in the game corner place for one....So let's see..., a nice take down (here's hoping your Aron has rock head) should KO the Electrike, if you aren't paralyzed by it that is. Magneton should either get KO'd by rock tomb, or self-destruct itself because it's an emo.:) Manectric's the toughie here, so you should just use your best ground move and hope you don't die. Treeko/Grovyle should be good backup at this stage of the battle...I forgot Voltorb...Well, a good take down or ground move can kill him anyway. After you do the above steps but before you battle Wattson, train like your life depended on it. And it does. *evil grin*

Edit: Just for the record, I know Rock tomb's a rock-type move. I'm saying to use it against Magneton because Magneton's a STEEL-TYPE! Just sayin' :p

Edit 2: Oh crap. Now I REALLY realize that I made myself look bad. Well, meh. My memory's fadin' anyway. Fine. Be that way people. Flame me. I realize now I was think' of a different move when I typed that....Ugh, my brain hurts.

Or here's a good chocie: Try and grab a Geodude and training it till it learn Mag. then maybe training it a bit higher. It should help alot.

^^Like he said. I defeated wattson today with my Gravaler. Just catch a geodude in granite cave (they are uncommon) and just train him. When he evolves at lvl 24/25 then go to the gym and beat the crap out of wattson.
Graveller's magnitude murders his electric-type pokemon. Good Luck!

why do people whine instead of training their pokemon hard (no offence meant)

Some people just like to look for an easy way out but just think, you'll be that much better off at the next gym. :D

Same problem here... I choose Treecko for starter but I don't use it.
I have:
Swellow L27
Quick Attack
Peck
Wing Attack
Double Team

Mightyena L26
Bite
Tackle
Tail Whip
Rock Smash

Aaron L25
Rock Tomb
Iron Defence
Metal Claw
Headbutt

Can I catch anything that may help me instead of a Geodude (Don't like it very much) And where do I find the Coin Case?? A guy in the Game Corner say Next Door but I can't find it.

Thanks

ima gonna smile now!
for the coin case, you need to trade a wave mail to the girl in the house below the pokemon center. she'll give you the coin case. (wave mails can be purchased in Slateport) as for your team, geodude is the best choice, you don't have to keep it, just use it for Wattson and Flannery. =)

Harbour Mail!!

You know how next to the Game corner, theres the path that leads out, then the fence? Go the house next to the fence.

You should evolve your Treeko to Grovlye and make it learn Leaf Blade. I trained mine to level 30, and Wattson went down easily. ^^

Well I know geodude sucks but if you train him he'll even help you in the 4th[fire] and 5th[normal] gym. And he is not that hard to raise.

I have never had the slightest problem with Wattson. He's always been the easiest for me. I think I used Aron, Grovyle and a Vulpix. (trade) I suppose that was a bit of an advantage.

yeah, I managed to pull off a rock tomb on magneton, and it said, "it's not very effective...." oh, and as for levels, ummm, don't have my game on right now, but here's the info to my best memory:

Aron
level: 16
headbut
mud-slap
rock smash
metal claw

Bronco (grovyle)
level: 24
absorb
pound
rock tomb
quick attack (this move won me a battle once, wanna know ask for details)

Will Smith (mightyena, sorry for these weird names, spur of the moment)
level: 23
bite
howl
sand-attack
tackle (I think that's the move, not 100% sure)

Yowza (shiny taillow, found him on accident, seriously!)
level: 21 (pretty sure)
peck
wing-attack
quick attack
agility

Loudred
level: 22
uproar
astonish
pound
growl (i think)

that's it right now. You'll have to wait until i'm done with school later today to and i'll post any true information that I might have got wrong.

I trained treecko to 29 and it was an gardevoir by then and defeat them simpel with LEAF BLADE(6)
