He's a Kahuna, why should this being the Darkinium-Z affect him appearing? It's not like TR or the Skull Grunts can even use it.

Well for one thing Nanu is the one that gives out the darkiniun Z. OK I may have overreacted about him not appearing at all, but if this episode is about stealing a darkinium Z, then there is a high chance that they'll change a lot about Nanu, which I don't want.

They're probably going to change some things about Nanu anyway, because they always change stuff about important characters. If it is the Darkinium-Z they're going after in this one, however, that shouldn't change anything about Nanu.

If they're going with the route that Ash's Electrium-Z will "evolve" into the Pikashunium-Z, as some have speculated after the events of SM19, then it's actually pretty likely Ash will get a Darkinium-Z at some point. There's a pretty good chance Litten is going to evolve all the way into Incineroar, and if they're intending to show off Malicious Moonsault in a similar way, then Ash is going to have to get a Darknium-Z at some point.

Lessons at the Pokémon School may be fun too, but when you're a Pokémon Trainer, battles come first! Here is a presentation of the tough opponents surrounding Satoshi:

Iwanko: Its goal is to become a strong Pokémon! It always keeps going and never gives up!

A group of no good people that's famous in the Alola region. They use Pokémon to wreak havoc all over.

Opponent 2: The Rocket Gang
Wherever Satoshi goes, the Rocket Gang will be there?! They lay all kinds of nasty plots for stealing people's Pokémon!

The Rocket Gang Merrily Walk Down the Path of Evil Once Again!
What the Rocket Gang wants is, generally speaking, strong Pokémon! Although they come up with lots of plans that target Satoshi's Pikachu, the results hae been lacking... Carry out evil and aim for further power!!
They've got Pokémon and completed their secret base:
The Rocket Gang is currently freeloading at a Kiteruguma's den deep in the forest. The base they built there serves as their hideout!
Mimikkyu: It has a strong sense of rivalry with Pikachu. Musashi's partner.
Kiteruguma: It's concerned about the Rocket Gang for some reason or other. When it goes on a rampage, it's completely unmanageable.
Hidoide: It fell in love with Kojiro at first sight?! This is a Pokémon that carries strong poison!

We from the Skull Gang are the evilest in Alola!!
When you think about evil organizations in Alola, the Skull Gang is first on your list! We won't let outsiders like the Rocket Gang think too highly about themselves!

The two evil organization's target is the Dark-Z!!
To use the super powerful Z-Moves, you need Z-Crystals. A battle takes place over on such crystal, the "Dark-Z"!

The Dark-Z is spotted in a Ratta nest!!
If they have a Dark-Z and a Z-Ring, they can use super powered Z-Moves to their heart's content?! How will this scramble for the crystal go?

So the crystal is Darkinium Z. Is Gladion going to debut in this episode? That was my first thought after reading this "mysterious new trainer". I believed that SM27 would be his debut episode.

Bewear is going to go on a rampage? That may just be referring back to episode 1 though. Gladion comes 2 episodes later, which makes me wonder if Team Rocket actually will get away with the Darkinium-Z as none of their Pokemon can use it as of yet.

Yeah, I mean there's nothing wrong in that. Dark typing in Ash's party has hardly got recognition. Greninja's Dark typing was never recognised.

Probably because TR don't know everything to do with Z-moves...maybe they just see it and think any crystal can be used.

There's a high chance that Nanu simply gives a different Z Crystal, or worse, he's not a Kahuna at all.

Well true, provided gladion is part of team skull in the anime as well. And furthermore, he already has a rockium Z so I don't know if he'll really take it.

It's just a generic description of it. Same with all the other Pokemon described on these pages.

This is certainly shoring up to be an entertaining episode. How appropriate that the Darkinium-Z is found in a Raticate's nest. To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if neither Team Rocket nor Team Skull successfully ends up with the Z-Crystal, and the Raticate take it away (to hide somewhere else) while the two teams are battling.

I think this is likely, as well. Team Rocket may see Z-moves in action, but it's likely they won't learn anything else about them--the different types of Z-Crystals, Z-move poses, etc. They'll probably think they can get their hands on a Z-Crystal and just use it. So, even if they do succeed in getting one, they're likely to fail in their attempt to use a Z-move.
