Two instances? So? Even so, Lycanroc was only at a disadvantage against Krookodile. One of three. That's less than half of Nanu's team. Plus, it's not just trials. Meltan was used against two Dragon-types recently.

We can't have logic like that in the region surrounded by water.
But then they'd risk running into the same problem they had in the OS, why bother with the Water specialist in the first place when Ash has his own (likely better developed) water type?

Umm... Torracat... Kiawe. Rowlet... Mallow. Pikachu... Sophocles.
Lana is an odd case since while she isn't battle centric a lot of her episodes are action focused, so she usually needs more of a reason for Ash to be kept out of it compared to Kiawe, whose fights are more personal, or Sophocles, who seldom needs to fight at all and has his Electric types for far different niches than Pikachu. Mallow, fair enough though.

And there were plenty of instances in the past regions were he used a Pokemon with a severe type disadvantage. Sometimes they won, other times they didn't but the point still stands that Ash doesnt always consider types when battling

I don't really care if Torracat is at a disadvantage, at least its being used.
Don't like it appearing to have 3 fire type moves.
Really don't understand the writers on this. Why give a Pokemon only moves that relate to its typing. This was the same issue with Oshawott, Pignite, and Snivy.
That's like giving a dark type only normal type moves, and wondering why it can't hurt ghost types despite being weak to dark types, its annoying. A Pokemon can learn more than its own type with moves (well most Pokemon can anyway), so I really don't understand.

Well, Primarina is coming, wonder if Lana will use the Z ring, I feel like Brionne got few appearances, I don't even remember her appearing that much, I guess she's not popular like Popplio and Primarina.
Yeah this one was rushed as hell. Popplio should have evolved way earlier. Also should have been paired with Sandy earlier really. It spent WAY too long stagnant and now its development is rushed over.
