Everyone in this ageless show does that. She's always moving on towards her goal after all. I like that about her.

I obviously meant in the sense that she's making effort goal wise every time we see her on screen lol.Everyone in this ageless show does that.
I have a pretty clear memory of Excadrill 1v1ing Pikachu and beating it. Don't know how Ash lost to an 'objectively inferior' trainer in the tournament.
I mean y’all praise Pikachu in XY and yet and all he had trouble with a Surskit in the beginning of XY and Serena’s Braxien was going toe to toe with him with no clear indication he was holding back on her. Obviously Pikachu’s power levels depend on the situation and at the point of the series. And you make no sense. Ash had a interest in battling Iris in the episode Charizard came back, battled her when Levanny reached its final evolution and this will make their fifth battle overall. I’m not sure why you expect companions to be rivals? That kinda defeats the point of Ash having a designated... rival? The same Pikachu that lost to Trips's Snivy. Even Ash lost to Misty during the Whirl Cup. Iris was never shown to be the superior battler off the two. If that were the case, then Ash would've constantly wanted to battle Iris or considered her a Rival he'd want to defeat.

First off: unconfirmed genders shouldn't be assumed as female, but as either 'it' or 'they'.
You're comparing and weighing the moves between the Dragonite to claim that Ash can win that battle. I already agree to that. I just can't see Dragonite defeating both Angrynite ánd Haxorus.
I mean what's the point of evolving Axew if it doesn't get a good win to show off its improvement?!
Don't forget they're bringing back Gary as well. Lose against Iris as a catalyst to give his dragons some development and then move up into Hyper Rank when facing Gary. Seems to me like the best scenario.
5-7 minutes tops.a little question:
in your opinion, how many minutes of this supposed ASH vs iris focused episode will be wasted on go catching some random unova pokemon?
Not gonna get into the debate about whether Iris can beat Ash or not, but the battle you chose is a bad example. Pikachu was in a terribly massive type disadvantage against Excadrill. 2 of his attacks did nothing, and the other 2 were not very effective. While Excadrill had super effective moves against Pikachu. If anything, Iris NOT winning that battle would've been weird.I have a pretty clear memory of Excadrill 1v1ing Pikachu and beating it. It'll probably be similar to the Korrina episode. So not that bad, but not ideal either.a little question:

BW as a whole sucked ass.BW Ash sucked ***. We all know that was a fact. Couldn't even win a single mini tourney until he did...outside the region, offscreen, on a boat.

Not sure that's a good idea. But I want Iris and Ash to think back on their journey together, and have some nice character interaction between them before (or after) going to battle against each other.
Yes, because winning a big tournament is what makes a character good.BW Ash sucked ***. We all know that was a fact. Couldn't even win a single mini tourney until he did...outside the region, offscreen, on a boat.
Well, it wasn't just the fact he was an overall loser. We all saw how dumber (that someone thrice the dumbness took him down without a full team even) and cockier he got (which directly caused Iris to criticize him more) when mistakes like those would've been impossible to make when he was in DP.Yes, because winning a big tournament is what makes a character good.
*looks at PM Ash*
Yeah, he still kinda fucking sucks?
