You can only link between the DS games, and only wirelessly. They have a built in wirless adapter, just so you know. But there isn't anyway to link GBA games with them.

So you can play Pokemon on the DS, but not trade using the DS in any way?

Is that possible? Because I have a SP and a GBA but when I try to trade with my 2 wireless adapters it doesnt seem to work I keep getting this "press B to cancel" thing. Perhaps im doing it wrong or it's just not possible considering one is more advanced then the other. Please tell me if it's possible to trade with 2 different game boy systems.

You can trade with 2 different game boy systems. The Wireless Adapters only work with Fire Red, Leaf Green, and Emerald. If you try using them with Ruby and Sapphire, they won't work. :p

Anyway, this has been answered.
