Mega Evolution II (XY SP3)

It was hard to tell if Steven had a new voice actor, but I guess I'll have to go watch his one episode back in the 6th season.

Partially surprised that Alain works for Lysandre, but it makes sense for his ending cameo at the end of Act 1.

Overall, I thought the episode was weirdly paced. We got Mega Rayquaza going on, but it was strange to show Groudon and Kyogre for brief seconds. Obviously that hints to Act III, but it appears there wasn't much progress in this special.

I'm interested more on seeing Lysandre involved with the plot. He's far more engaging than his XY game counterpart.

I would call this the "edgy" version of pokemon, it also seems to be pretty well developed for a side story. Although the big question that sticks in my mind is will the 2 main pokemon philosophies cross paths and if so how?

Mega evolution and raw power vs Ash's mostly personality and friendship based style. Will Ash get a Mega on his team? Will he cross paths with Alain?

It makes interesting food for thought but I do not think that Ash really NEEDS a Mega on his team, we all know that Pikachu surely will not be evolving. (unless there was some kind of temporary super secret ultimate Pikachu form)

Steven's knowledge is key to Lysandre's plans, and the next stop is Rustburo City...Smells like Devon Corp. And probably their Infinity Energy too.

After pausing, I did. And you're right. Andrew Paull did indeed voice Steven again.

Good episode. Great to see Steven Stone battle, too. And it's pretty clear what Lysandre is up to, and yet Alain isn't even aware of it.

Pretty good episode, liked the battle at the beginning, but it was a shame it was interrupted.

Or Delta Stone, since Rayquaza is associated with that letter (Delta) for his Mega, kinda like how Groudon and Kyogre are associated with Omega and Alpha respectively.

The name of the stone was a miss.

I definitely enjoyed the special and wish that there was a separate series going on like Pokemon Chronicles. It's kinda sad how this 1 special was much better than the 3 new Pokemon XY episodes that showed on Saturday.
