Welcome to my fan-fic, Mercury dust. Its kinda hard to explain , and my prologue is short, foreshadowing something later in the story....

Prologue
Mercury knew the fighting was over for now, but she was still aware of many problems. She gasped , Neo! Where was he? Out of the corner of her eye she spotted a dark blue object, covered in blood lying near the blaze of the forest fire. " NEO! Hang on, please Neo!" She rushed to his side, not minding the frozen stiffness of fear in her legs as she ran. "Neo..." she breathed "Please, you have to stay alive, what will I do without you? What will anyone do without you? Keep breathing, fight for life!" She paused to listen to his shallow breathing. Good, he was alive, but how long could he hang on? Tears streaked from her eyes, making her doubt that he would even live....
Chapter one - Yum.
Even though she knew it was a dream, Mercury still felt terror raging inside of her. He feet wouldn’t move, as if they were planted into the ground and covered in cement. Dark smoke was everywhere, it was so dark she couldn’t see anything except herself. She began to struggle for breath as the black smoke clogged up her lungs. Something was calling from a distance “ Mercury!? Mercury!? Mercury?!”
Slowly she opened her eyes, to find herself back in her bedroom. She was panting still… had it actually been real? Looking around the room a little more she saw her best friend standing in front of her bed with a concerned look on her face.
“Mercury? Thank god you’re finally awake!” Talia breathed “You started screaming in your sleep, and then you coughed… What was that about?” She continued curiously
“ Its nothing…” Mercury lied. She didn’t want to worry her best friend , because Talia got pretty worked up when she knew someone was worried
“ Allrighty , if you say so… but I don’t believe you still. It was definitely something.” She replied
“ What was I screaming about anyway?” Mercury wondered out loud
“ Well I don’t know, it was like this ‘AAAAHAHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH’, you weren’t even really saying anything, just plain screaming.
“Owww” Mercury complained “ Your scream hurts”
“Pfft. Imagine how I felt, my ears are bigger than yours, I hear stuff a lot better”
Once again Talia had a point, she was a fox. Mercury’s stomach growled.
The two girls laughed because it was so loud. “ Is it breakfast time now?” Mercury asked
“ I guess… I already ate like two hours ago, but whatever.” Talia said
“ WHAT?! What time is it anyway?” Mercury screamed
“ Geese enough with the yelling…My poor ears” Talia whined “ Well anyway, its around 11:00 already , you lazy butt.”
“ Damn…. this sucks…. that means…..”
“ DON’T SAY IT” Talia warned
“ It means” Mercury taunted
“You wouldn’t dare”
“ ITS BRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNCHHHHH” Mercury screamed
“ I. Hate. You.” Talia whispered , covering her ‘poor ears’.
The two headed down the small set of stairs stairs towards the kitchen, which smelled like cinnamon roles.
“Talia, did you make cinnamon rolls or something? What’s that smell?”
“ Maaaaybe…..” Talia replied
Geese, Talia was acting kind of different this morning, she usually blurted out every thought that came through her head. Today she was keeping to herself… what was going on?
“Hey Talia?” I asked
“ Yea?” She replied
“ Is something going on? You are acting weird again…”
“ No silly, you must be imagining it.” She replied as calmly as possible
“ You know, you are a really bad liar Talia.” I informed her
“ I’m not lying” She said as she turned her back on me and looked at the sofa in the small living room
“ What?”
“ Nothing, its just that… uhmmmm… never mind” She stuttered “ Hey look over there, what’s that on the couch?”
What was she pointing at? I couldn’t see anything, so I decided to get a closer look. Bad idea.
“ BOO!”
A bunch of my friends came from behind the couches and chairs and pretty much everywhere else. Lemonade , Tails, Sonic , Amy , Cream , Cheese , Knuckles and Neo, all of them, in my tiny living room! I couldn’t help but laugh, after all, they were wearing silly hats and making weird faces. My second reaction was…
“ WHAT THE HECK YOU GUYS?” They just stared, there was an awkward silence until Lemonade and Amy broke out laughing, and everyone else followed. I was as confused as a polar bear in Kansas, only… what is Kansas anyway?
“ No I’m serious what’s going on?” I asked again
…… Nothing
“ Well… Talia said it was your birthday today, so she told us all to hide in your living room, while she went to go wake you up.” Cream explained nervously
“ Yea, and getting in wasn’t easy, I’m surprised that you couldn’t hear your security alarm going off.” Knuckles added
“ YOU BROKE INTO MY HOUSE?” I yelled
“ Not really broke into, we used the key under the door mat.” Neo said with a slight smile
Oh Neo, he was adorable no matter what he did! I found myself staring at him blushing, and immediately looked away.
“ Its okay…” I murmured “ As long as you didn’t break any windows”
Ok… so let me explain. Im Mercury the hedgehog, im 13 (pretty much 14 now) years old and I have the power of gravity, able to change it within a 20 foot span around me. Neo is 17 years old, really cute (and friendly) and heroic. Whenever I look at him I feel happy, in love. He can control water, make it float around and stuff. He also has tons of strength, and knows how to use it in battle. He usually hangs around with Sonic, they have been friends for a while.
“ Cheese and I made some cheesecake for your 14th birthday!” Cream said excitedly “ It has strawberries and chocolate too!”
We all enjoyed creams cake, along with the cinnamon rolls Talia ‘Maaaaybe’ made.
Neo even came and sat next to me, and we talked for a short while
“ Um… Hi neo” I tried to sound as normal as possible, but that’s hard when the cutest hedgehog in the world is right in front of you
“ Oh, Hi Mercury, isn’t this cake good?” He managed to say between bites of cheesecake
“ Yea, Cream really did a great job didn’t she?”
“ Yep.” Then he pulled me under the table “ Listen, we need to talk after everyone leaves, there is something very important I have to tell you. Meet me at the giant oak at 3:00. Its very serious, life threatening. “
“O…Ok…..” I stuttered
Wow , life threatening, what could he possibly mean by that?
