man thats a bummer, i was just training a metagross with impressive abilities. i guess ill have to replace it with a salamence or i can have both. and i just taught metagross earthquake, oh well i have 9 tm 26 left, (thanx to aipom's pick up) im gonna be busy tonight.
CBquake doesn't ohko metagross, but CB Meteor Mash or Rock Slide from metagross ohkos salamence.core unit said:

Salamence provides you with fast offense whith its high attack and speed stats. It gets stab flying which helps against the game-breaking fighters. With intimidate and fighting resistance, it makes a good switch in for fighters notably heracross a pokemon that can rip through teams. It has the deadly 4x ice weakness, something to watch out for when the bulky water switches in.
Metagross is more defensive, and quite slower. Agility can help with that. It resists normal, flying, and rock with its 130 base defense takes them with ease and provides resistance and offense at the same time. With sleep talk, it can hit hard and absorb status especially sleep. It resists ice so it makes a good switch into jynx, regice, and other assorted pokemon. It boasts a 150 power move including stab that hits everything hard with over 600 attack with choice band. It counters many things at once like McIcegar.
DDmence and Agiligross both make good clean up pokemon, something to sweep with near the end of the battle. They have their special variations: Elemence and Mixgross, giving special (and physical with metagross) support, designed to surprise the counters. Salamence can also give wish support but it lacks power. Best for that to be defensive.
Both are titans among the OU metagagme and you need to have a counter for them or you will get *** raped.

I believe Metagross is the better choice. Tazzlerhas said it perfectly. I really can not stand that 4x weakness to Ice. And since Rock Slide and nearly any Ice attack can KO Salamence, Metagross can only be KOed by powerful Fire attacks (coming from a decent pkmn of course).

I would go with Metagross because it has excellent Attack and Defense Stats. It also learns powerful moves, like Meteor Mash.

i think metagross is better as a pokemon but if they battled salamence would take it out with its speed + flamethrower or EQ ;123;

If you have a really fast Metagross and a super-slow Salamence and Metagross had max attack stat, a Choice Band and Rock Slide, then obviously Metagross qould win. If it was the other way around and Salamence had Earthquake, then Salamence would win.
So it really depends on the situation. If Explosion counted as killing Salamence, and not worrying and killing itself, then Metagross would win, unless Salamence had already killed it :/

i have metagross lv100, but don't have Salamence lv100. Salamence is much better. You can destroy psychic types with crunc, dragon types with dc, grass and steel with flamethrower, rock, ground,steel and fire with Equake. Go with Salamence

I think Salamence will win,if it has Fire blast.Special sweeper Salamence with fire blast would kill it for sure. Salamence's EQ might not be able to one hit KO Metagross due to Metagross's high defense.
I prefer Dragon dance Salamence.
