OOC: ... Sorry if the quality of this post is bad. I'm pretty tired and will go sleeping straight after this post. Anyway... I leave few parts I remember being in the first version away, because... well I want to reduce the amount of whining and sobbing in this. It's already whiny the way it is now. -_-' Also, Raikou's big, OOC part will be left away, and the end of this post will be altered. In the last version, Sylvia ran away, but, meh.
Oh, I changed Vortex to be young instead of old. Need to Edit my Sign Up with that... And I still have to write up the personalities for her Pokémon.
IC:
Sylvia was sitting away from the others, pondering what the bonding would be like. Just then, she saw a ray of light being shot to the sky, resembling her of fireworks as it exploded high in the air, shooting separate beams of swirling light downwards. But unlike in fireworks, these lights didn't fade to the air, but kept descening in high speeds.
Sylvia saw that few beams of light had already reached some of the trainers by now, making them glow so brightly that Sylvia was glad she had her sunglasses, for so many sources of light around her at the same time could've caused some serious damage to her eyes.
Sylvia sat on the rock, looking around, seeing that everyone else was already in the middle of bonding, and wanted to get to that point as well, for bodning with a Pokémon would, according to her thoughts, make her less human-like, and be closer to Pokémon's wave lenght, which was exactly what she wanted. But bonding would mean that she would be stuck to Raikou... for the rest of her life. Did she really want that?
Before she was able to answer to her question, she saw the area around her getting brighter, like the ground itself would be glowing. However, as she looked up, she saw that it was because one of the lights... the very last one was headed towards her.
Sylvia stood up, knowing that she had no escape now. This was it. She spread her arms as the light came down and struck her on the chest, causing her to stumble back a bit. She waited for the bonding to begin, for starting to glow and bond, but nothing happened.
She didn't feel different in any way. Hunging her head she fell on her knees, but as she lift her head again, she saw that the area around her was all dark, and it surely wasn't due to her sunglasses. She was surrounded in darkness, and no matter how hard she tried to see the others, her eyes only saw dark. She got up rapidly and took a step back, giving a hasty look to her left side, begging that she would see the crazy companion of hers, but saw nothing.
"Why?" came a voice, startling Sylvia. The voice... it was terrible, rattling voice, and though the word it spoke was in the form of a question, none could have known it, even if they would've been able to hear it, as the voice was neutral and cold, giving creeps to Sylvia. She looked around, wanting to know where that voice came from. "Where did it come from?" the voice asked again, speaking the exact same words as Sylvia had thought, wishing she could say them out loud. Then, she realized the truth; that voice was hers.
She took few steps back, but it didn't really matter, for the darkness seemed endless, and no matter how many steps she would have taken, it wouldn't have made any difference. The voice was hers, but... how? She hadn't felt her mouth moving. The voice didn't come from her mouth... it came from her head, echoing around her.
(OOC: So, eh, little note at this point. Sylvia is really on the ground in the "Real World", but sees herself being surrounded by darkness, standing up and all the other stuff that will now follow, but what she sees and hears are not visible to others as they are just her memories, thoughts and... stuff. 'Ya know, stuff to do with the mind? I could put Raikou to explain this in the actual RPG part of this post, but it would be... OOC... Gah, I explained this a lot better the first time I posted this >_< Well you got the idea I hope. Anyway, the part between the * * is from the "real world". Yeah. Dang, I hate to use that term here, but I find no better one so... meh. But now, a glimpse of Raikou! )

Back on the Whirlwind Plains, Raikou had stopped trying to build a converstation between a rock and a worm, as it seemed there were no progress, and instead turned to face Sylvia, who was on her knees on the ground, a strange, purple glow emitting from her body instead of a white one.
Raikou turned to look at the others, seeing that few had already bonded and few were glowing in a white light. Then, he looked back at Sylvia who struggled on the ground.
"Haha, it seems she's doing well", Raikou smiled and with a sudden movement towards his back, tried to catch his tail. Instead, he fell on the ground, glaring at his `escaped pray`, aka, his tail.
"I will get you... You know I will..." he muttered to his tail and stood up, his expression indicating that he would punish his tail by not talking to it anymore. Little did he know that if his tail would have possessed a soul or brains, it would've just been glad of its `Punishment`.

Sylvia didn't understand why she was where she was now, nor did she understand what had gone wrong with her bonding. Where were her Pokémon? Didn't they want to bond with her? Was she... hated by Pokémon? She shook her head, not being able to handle a tought like that. Pokémon were everything to her. "They mean everything..." the voice of her head whispered, though the tone of it wouldn't have mattered, as it all sounded the same.
"Everything? Hahaha!" came a mocking answer answer from somewhere, startling Sylvia to almost leap back. She looked around, hoping to see the source of the voice, for no matter how much the voice scared her, it was better than the silence that only her own, creapy voice shattered.
"Who's there?" the voice of Sylvia's asked, making her flinch. She hated that voice. Hated that rattling, emotionless voice. And with it, the people who did it to her. No, all people.
"Don't you regognize me girl?" the voice asked again, its mocking tone sounding oddly familiar.
"You... You're the mayor of my village" Sylvia gasped, though again, the voice remained the exact same way it had been. Sylvia shook her head, knowing that the mayor was dead. Killed in the fire like so many others. All because of her.
"You remembered me. I'm honored", the voice chuckled, and soon, the mayor stood in front of Sylvia, looking very much alive. He was middle aged bald man, with very small, pig-like eyes. Sylvia took back a step, and that was when she realized that the mayor's voice was normal human's voice, not like hers. The mayor seemed to notice Sylvia's expression even trough the sunglasses, as he soon spoke again. "What's the matter? You seem startled. Don't be, you deserve that voice of yours"
"What? I don't deserve it any more than you do", Sylvia stated, closing her eyes and wishing she wouldn't be forced to hear the words she `spoke`.
"Hmhmh, you little freak still don't understand. You claim Pokémon are everything to you? Bah, you don't care of them, nor do they care of you..." the mayor stated, crossing his arms. "They hate you. And why shouldn't they?"
"..." Sylvia found no words to speak with. What if he was right? What if Pokémon hated her? They had the full right to do so... the forest fire did not only claim the lives of the villagers, but many Pokémon's as well. All because of her.
"What's the matter? Don't you have anything to say?" the mayor mocked, smiling as he saw that Sylvia didn't answer. "Ah, but of course, you know that it was your fault. Your own fault that Pokémon hate you. And humans do as well. Haha, you have a life filled with hatred!" the mayor continued his laughter, as Sylvia hung her head.
"I..." she said quietly, pondering the words of the mayor. The Pokémon in that forest. I promised them I'd save them. And yet... I'm the reason they lost their home, family members, friends or even... their own life. Is that why they won't bond with me now? They don't want to bond with a murderer...
"Exactly!" the mayor spat, apparently being reading Sylvia's thoughts. "But you wouldn't even want them to, would you? You hate them as well..."
Sylvia's sad expression quickly changed into an angry one. "Again you speak of me hating them. That's nonsense. They're everything to me, I don't hate them, I-" her sentence was cut off by an erupting laughter from the mayor's part.
"Ah, hahahaha... Then why'd you kill them?" the mayor managed to say between his chuckles.
"It was accident!" Sylvia shouted back, the voice still remaining as what it was.
"Hmh, come on, you wanted that to happen, didn't you? Listen to yourself. You have the voice of a Pokémon hater..." the sentence brought back the question Sylvia had asked before to her mind.
"No I didn't! It was an accident. I would never want to hurt Pokémon. And you... you're the one who should be cursed with this voice! You hate Pokémon, you-"
"We aren't talking of me here, girl. My hatred is justified. Pokémon are barbarians, yet you... you have no reason to hate Pokémon, for you are barbarian as well. You're just like them. You hate your own! Ahahahaa!" the laughter of the mayor rang in Sylvia's mind as she squeezed her hands into fists.
"The only barbarian is you. You don't decide what I hate, I-"
"I'm not a barbarian. I didn't kill my own. Nor did I kill my friend", as the mayor spoke the last part of his sentence, he grinned.
"Friend?" Sylvia asked quietly, afraid of what the mayor would say now. "Vortex..." she whispered and looked away, knowing that the mayor was right. Maybe she did hate them. Maybe she was like that. Maybe...
"Yes, Vortex, who now hates you too. He has the full right to. You left him there to save yourself..." the mayor whispered. "Look!" he shouted then, and suddenly, the images of the night Sylvia burned the village flowed to her mind, making her scared of getting chocked to their flow.
Sylvia looked around the burning village, her face having no expression to work with, when suddenly, she heard a cry. Turning around, she saw a Bagon sitting on the ground, with many wounds, burn markers and cuts on its body. It was crying out loud, tears erupting from its eyes, one of them being crossed by a scar.
Sylvia gasped upon seeing its condition. The villagers must have had something to do with it. As Sylvia ran closer, the Bagon stopped crying and stared at her, before speeding off in a tower-like building that the flames had yet to reach.
As Sylvia saw that, she ran after it, soon getting company from her saver and best friend, Vortex the Golduck. The two of them ran inside the building, leaving the flames behind them, but spreading quickly.
As the two of them entered the tower, they looked around, seeing no signs of the small Dragon-Type, nor any other living creature. Soon, the building was caught on fire as well. Vortex, being studying almost his whole life, was able to speak human, and told Sylvia to hurry up and find the Bagon, while he tried to keep the flames away. Sylvia agreeded and ran off.
Seeing nobody in the first floor, she ran up the stairs to the second one, seeing the Bagon there, hiding under a table now on fire. Sylvia ran to it and grabbed it on the vaist, trying to pull it away, but the Dragon-Type was panicing and took a firm grip of the floor, not willing to let go. Sylvia cursed in her mind, knowing that she should talk to it, but shook her head, repeating that she couldn't.
While Sylvia was struggling with her thoughts of speaking, the whole building had caught fire, and parts of the ceiling and upper floors were staring to fall down. Vortex did his best to keep the fire away from himself and Sylvia, but ordered her to hurry up. Sylvia, hearing that, continued to try and get the Bagon to let go. But upon not succeding, Sylvia kicked away the burning table, causing it to fall on the first floor and straight on Vortex.
Sylvia decided to try again and kept on pulling the Bagon, whose eyes were widened with fear of getting tortured again. Meanwhile, Vortex did his best to move away from the table, his fine body covered in numerous burns. He saw that Sylvia was still on the upper floor, and braced himself, shooting water to the flames near Sylvia, ignoring the ones scorching his own feet.
Finally, Sylvia let go of the Bagon anc backed away, staring at it. She had no choice but to leave it, as the building was collapsing. With teary eyes she turned around and ran down the stairs, only to see that the whole floow was on fire. She shook her head in disbelief and horror, when suddenly, steam rose from near the exit, and soon the flames were away from that part. Sylvia, already feeling dizzy of the smoke, ran outside and coughed, only to remember that Vortex was still inside. But as she turned, the flames blocked her way, and slowly, the building started to collapse. Sylvia ran away from it, looking back, crying as she went.
The flashback ended, leaving the current Sylvia on her knees, sobbing, the darkness still being the only thing she could see around her, safe from the mayor who now laughed.
"Do you see now? You left both of them to their death", the mayor mocked. "And you claim you care of them? Bah", he continued.
"... Bu..." even Sylvia's sobbing made so change to the voice. It sounded the same, cruel and insensitive, rattling, strecthing and cold.
"Don't you dare to try any buts. You killed them, end of story", the mayor said, glaring down at Sylvia. "... Do you want to see... Vortex?" the mayor asked in a devious tone, causing Sylvia to gasp.
Soon, a ball of light appeared next to the two, taking a form of a bubble. And inside...
"Vortex!" Sylvia shouted, and this time, it wouldn't have mattered if her voice had been normal, as even she herself didn't know the tone she said her sentence in. She didn't know what she should think or feel. Guilt and sorrow? Joy and relief? She didn't know.
The duck Pokémon opened its crimson eyes and lifted its head from the curled up pose it was in. Sylvia stared straight in its eyes, but saw no emotion in them, which was weird. Really weird. "Vortex..." Sylvia whispered, but upon remembering what her voice was like, she took a step back and covered her mouth.
The eyes of the duck felt like piercing straight trough Sylvia. She wanted to ask why wasn't he talking, but the mayor was faster.
"He sees you again after being killed by you. Do you think he wants to talk? Do you think he wants to be your friend again? Hah..." the mayor grinned. Both Sylvia and Vortex had turned to face him when he spoke, and as he stopped, Sylvia spoke quietly, causing the duck to face her again.
"I... Vortex, I'm sorry", she whispered, her tear-filled eyes turned to the floating bubble that felt to hold her whole past. "Please... forgive me"
The eyes that had been fixed to her didn't move, they just were. Like a statute. Except that it seemed so real. Sylvia stared in its eyes, but saw nothing. Nothing at all. Then it ocurred to her.
"You aren't real", she told to the duck, the terrible voice shaking a bit.
"Hahaha, can't you tell it's real? Pathetic..." the mayor laughed, but something in his voice was less mocking than before.
"No", Sylvia stated, her voice less rattling than ever before. "Vortex's eyes aren't like that. Not before death, not after it"
"Are you denying me nowww? You killed meee... and now you don't think... I'm reallll?"
Sylvia turned to face the bubble in horror. The voice was of Vortex's, or at least, it sounded like it. But it was distant, and it sounded like a veil would be covering the words. "Vor... tex?" Sylvia asked, her voice getting reduced tothe rattling one.
"Yess...[/I" the voice answered, and Sylvia stood silent, closing her eyes. After aa while, the voice asked: "What is the matterrr? I'm hereee... in front of youuuu..." the voice spoke, the eyes of the duck's glowing.
"No. You aren't", Sylvia stated again, sounding like a small kid, convinced that her parents weren't right. Of course, the ratling tone was still there. "You aren't Vortex. You're a fake. Your face, your voice and... your eyes. Now get lost!" she screamed and punched forwards, her hand smashing on the bubble, breaking it, shards of it flying everywhere. Shards that she could see herself now. A mirror.
"NO!" the mayor screamed as he, too, was shattered like a mirror, breaking into milion peaces that seemed to get devoured by the darkness around them.
On the spot the bubble had been, now floated two light spheres, one of them speaking in a warm, soft voice. "An illusion... you noticed", it said. And this time, there was no doubt about it. Sylvia knew that voice. It was Vortex. The real Vortex. And in no time, the sphere took the form of a Golduck. But this time, it stood on two legs, and from its eyes shone joy. "You knew"
Sylvia walked backwards, not believing her eyes. As she walked, she noticed that her feet were on a brown ground, and as she looked back up from her feet, she saw the Whirlwind Plains, though trough a veil of faint light.
"Time... for the bonding", Vortex said and smiled upon seeing the confusion on his friend's face "Yes, we're your partners, we will fuse with you. Become one"
Sylvia seemed to be unaware as to who were `we`, but soon, the other light ball took form, revealing a dragon, a Salamence. "... Great", it said, rolling its eyes. But thought its voice was harsh and judging, the angry expression its face hold was only there to cover a smile. "What could be worse than be a stuck with you two?!"
"Typhoon here will accompany you", Vortex smiled as he pointed the dragon with his finger. "Now then, we-"
"Wait..." Sylvia said quietly, not noticing that as she spoke, the darkness around them returned. "I shouldn't. Pokémon... they don't want my help, they hate me, I-"
Typhoon took form again from the light ball and rolled its eyes. "Pfft, that so? Then tell me why are we here? Why are your Pokémon here? 'Cause they hate you? Stop whinging and bond already so we can get this over with"
"But... I- what if I hate Pokémon?"
"Stop the stuttering already. I mean, geez, if you'd hate them, would you be here? Why'd you try and help me and come all the way here if you would hate them? Don't you know when you hate something? Gah, I'm tired of this. Now we will get this over with! I'm alive again and I don't wanna waste my time in your head!" with that, he turned into the shining sphere he had been and flew straight at Sylvia, his form and consciousness getting fused with hers.
Vortex sighed. "Don't worry, Pokémon helped you your whole life. You helped them. They don't hate you. Nor do humans..." with that, Vortex, too, dissappeared inside Sylvia. She began glowing, and soon the darkness faded, leaving her standing dumbfounded on the ground.
Raikou was sitting few feet away from her, his backside up and head on the ground as he prepared to assault his tail. This time, he was leaning his tail and butt against a big rock, so that he wouldn't be able to turn when his head gets close to them. Carefully he moved closer, opened his mouth and ignoring the pain on his back, tried to reach his tail. Only few inches... few more... but just when he was about to complete his goal, he got surrounded by light, and before he knew it, or before he was able to realize the pain of getting reduced to mere light molecyl by molecyl, he was already heading towards Sylvia.
"I can fly! Whoo! Woot! I can fly!" Raikou cheered. How he was able to say anything when he wasn't technically existing is... a mystery, though so is the answer to the question of `How has Raikou managed to live this far?`
As the light faded around Sylvia, she fell on the ground, panting heavily, still confused and pondering the words she was spoken to.
From inside her head, in a dark, deep corner, a converstation was taking place...
"I got friends! ♪ Hey, wanna play the `what do I see game?`"
"... Here is... nothing to se-"
"Ah, don't be ridiculous! Okay, I see something fugly. Right over there"
"That's my head you dolt! Now get the hell away from me or I'll bite your head off!"
"... Calm down Typhoon, we-"
"Don't care! I'm finally alive again, and what happens? I get in someone's head! I'm stuck with a whiner and a duck, and now this... this... thing comes in! Could things be worse?"
"♪♪Ninetyninehundredninetynine bottles of bear on the wall♪♪..."
"... Please let me die again!"

OOC: I hope you understood who says what in the last part... Anyway, sorry for the whining in this as well as the fact that it... uh, ends kinda suddenly, though I bet that she will be whining of those same things many more times, as it isn't like she now turned all hip and happy or anything, just snapped out of it for a while and... Bah, I'll stop babbling now. *Runs off*
