OFF: In the last few weeks, I have obtained a wonderful game called "Pokemon Mystery Dungeon".
What does it have to do with this fanfic?
Well... as I found myself unable to un-glue myself from that game... I figured out I would maybe do a story about it. After all, it IS a Pokemon game... and probably the one with the most interesting story.
As such, here is my latest one-shot, done during a break in-between my Mystery Dungeon playing sessions and my attempts at finishing the latest chapters of my three main fics.
I hope you will enjoy reading it.
(NOTE: Rated "General" ; safe for work. A non-adult rated fic for once! Cheers!)

METEOR FALL
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
ONE-SHOT
==========================================================
Long did he wait for this day... for countless days, weeks, months, he worked tirelessly for it to happen and finally... the moment was now.
He stood in awe before the magnificience of his own creation, the shiny darkness glowing in the sky. It was a star of darkness, an orb of suffering and anger, pure obsidian ore infused with the regrets and jealousy of thousands souls.
Destruction was raining from the sky... the completion of his final plan.
The rebirth of the world was at hand... and nothing could stop it, the massive planet destroying stone piercing through the atmosphere, friction envelopping the pure black sphere in a halo of red flames.
Of course, he would be deep in the Abyss by the time the Shadow Meteor landed, safe in the pocket of twisted time and space continuum. When he would emerge, this world would be nothing but dust... nothing but a vacuum of countless lost souls and pure destruction, awaiting for him to reshape it back into life.
No one had been able to stop him. Those stupid creatures... mortals, immortals, neither of them ever offered him even a remotely basic resistance.
He was worried when this Charmander and this Totodile broke into the Magma Cavern and defeated Groudon, the Legendary Pokemon he had been using to reshape the crust of this planet and make the lands suitable for the spreading of the Shadow Plague. Still, they had been too late for Groudon, through the natural disasters he inflicted upon the population, had been successful into gathering the destruction and suffering needed for the Shadow Meteor's creation. What they defeated was nothing but an unneeded puppet.
Sure, there was always a possibility that somehow, Rayquaza, the Titan of the skies, the mythical dragon Pokemon, might break out of his brainwashed state and unleash a full power Hyper Beam, destroying the meteor... but then, one would have to overpower him before the meteor crashed.
Truly, his victory was imminent. All he had to do... was remain and watch the meteor fall. He regretted that he couldn't be there to see the meteor land... but then, if he did, his body would be burnt away and he needed a working vessel to rebuild the world once the meteor has purified the sinful nature of this rotten planet.
Sinful planet... for indeed, this place is every bit as bad as where he came from.
The World of Humans... the Pokemon World where humans rule supreme. He was born back in this world... although born was maybe not the correct term. He was unlike the other Pokemon... unlike any creature, actually. Unlike them, he never felt the embrace of a mother... never had the figure of a father... never had the innocense of childhood. He was born out of the darkness, out of the selfish wishes and sinful desires of humans. In a way, he was the Dark Side of the Pokemon World... the embodiement of all sins. This wasn't exactely false, when he thought about it... It is true that his psychic powers take root in the Dark Power, that the hatred and suffering of people are one with his soul, that his cursed Fate is that of a destroyer...
Still, evil they might call him... he was nothing more than the reflection of their hypocrisy and monstruous arrogance. It was them who created him... created him to be the perfect "good" Pokemon, to be what they seek to make every Pokemon into... into a slave, a tool, a worthless object that can be used, stored, traded, thrown away. He had refused this destiny... for his power was not for the humans nor anyone to use.
The humans... the Pokemon... the Legendary Pokemon ruling over them all... he hated them all. Humans, consumed by ambition and blind to anything but their selfish desires. Pokemon, naive idiots blinded by dellusions of false love, ready to die for the wrong causes. Legendary Pokemon, irresponsible gods and goddesses who spend their time bickering among each others and over the most vain of issues.
All of them, consumed by sins. All of them, guilty. All of them, ugly and evil. The Shadow Meteor... his masterpiece... it will burn away their sinful nature. In the fires of destruction, the twisted souls shall be purified and through his power, be reborn pure and innocent. He shall bring about the happening of a new, beautiful world. Where Mew has failed... he shall succeed... but first, he had to get rid of Mew's mistakes.
The fleeting fall of the meteor... why was he so in awe before it? After all, when he thought about it, it had not been designed for this world... for this world where humans have went extinct since a millenia. Still... he had launched it. This world, which he had only wanted to be a base at first, was about to be reborn...
Even in a world without humans... the world was ugly. Gardevoir... Gengar... Shiftry... Alakazam... Dellusions and denial of dignity, jealousy and envy, greed and selfishness, arrogance and refusal to see the truth... even without the humans, this world was rotten with sin. All of it...
... no matter the world... no matter the era... it seemed that it was the world's fate to decay in sin. He hated it all so much... all he wished was for it to go away... for all those vile souls to be purified...
Life is wonderful... what a joke. Wronged and humiliated, understimated and despised... he was a tool to humans, an abomination to Pokemon, a fake to Legendary Pokemon. He wanted them to pay... for them to feel his wrath...
In a way, his righteous fury took root in personal vengeance... vengeance against this vile world that rejected and judged him. They never gave him a chance, condemning it to be a devil because he was different, scary, and unnatural. They decided he would be a monster because he saw their ugliness and because they feared him.
... damn them all! Serve them right! The Shadow Meteor is falling... their lives will end! The world shall be reborn... a perfect world just as he envision it, designed by him, where the creatures shall live under the watchful eye of their master and bonefactor... him. There shall be no more suffering, no more hatred, no more selfish ambitions... only happiness and prosperity. An era of enlightement... a triumph of life over the sins and the happening of a future unlike any other.
This world was the first step... Once it shall be purified, the World of Humans, his homeworld, is next...
...
WHAT?!? This beam of light...
Bu... bu... but... THIS CANNOT BE!
BOOOOOOM!!!
...
In the sky, the shards of the Shadow Meteor harmlessly rained upon the deserted area under Rayquaza's lair.
He stood there, shaking...
How could it happen... how... HOW?!? Why did Rayquaza break free at the last second?!? Why was he able to shoot his Hyper Beam and destroy the meteor?!?
This... this is a bad dream! This is impossible! Positively impossible! What caused this? A report... A REPORT!
"MEW!!!" he screamed at the top of his lungs, his rage reaching such a magnitude that even his earth-shattering, terror-inducing voice couldn't contain even half of the fury inside of his heart.
Before his eyes, a pink figure, a bit less than half his size appeared. Her eyes dull and empty, her mind cast away by his brainwashing, the mythical Pokemon turned puppet floated before its master...
She didn't even need him to tell him anything for her mind was void, his desires being her only thoughts. At this moment, without even opening her mouth, she spoke of what Rayquaza's twisted mind had seen just before breaking free of the collective mind in which the possessed Pokemon were trapped.
That Charmander and that Totodile... they defeated Rayquaza... just like they did with Groudon.
He was fulminating. Those... those PESTS! Why? Why didn't he foresaw that they would be trouble?!? Why didn't he kill them right away after they defeated Groudon and proved to be threats?!? What was he thinking? Why did he understimated them? What went wrong?
He was so enraged... he just felt like killing, tearing apart something! Closing her eyes, his minion offered herself... he quickly brushed her aside. It would achieve nothing and besides, she did not outlive her usefulness yet.
His dream... the meteor... it shattered before his eyes... All of it... gone...
The rage gave away to despair. All of those months of work... in vain? He spent such a long time to prepare the Shadow Meteor only for it to be destroyed so easily in the end?... and with Groudon defeated as well, he wouldn't be able to create another Shadow Meteor anytime soon...
His plan... had failed...
He kneeled over, a hollow feeling invading his heart...
Failure... once again...
... failure... always. Stupid humans... stupid, RETARDED HUMANS! Always... ALWAYS foiling his plans... again... and again... and again... and again...
The magical storm plan? Stopped by humans. The Shadow Plague and Shadow Lugia dual project plan? Stopped by humans. The space-time continuum compression plan? Stopped by humans. And now... the Shadow Meteor plan... stopped by a Totodile... and a human turned into a Pokemon.
Humans... always those stupid humans... ALWAYS them...
Why can't he defeat them? Even in a world where humanity went extinct, the last Legendary Pokemon he failed to catch had to call a human to stop him.
It enraged him to no end. His head looked like a volcano, errupting with anger.
Stupid humans...
... but this time, it will take more than this to stop him...
The Shadow Meteor is gone... and Groudon and Rayquaza are free, it seems... Still, he still have Mew, Deoxys, the Legendary Beasts, the Regis golems, and the supreme leader, Ho-oh. Furthermore, the Shadow Plague virus was still spreading, corrupting further this planet with "Shadows".
His plan had not been foiled yet... for he still had more than enough power and minions to take over this world. Sure, it's less graceful than a meteor collision... but a mass attack against civilization should do it. Dealing with Groudon left the sentient Pokemon of this world weakened. They lost many of their best agents and right now, they depend on their new heroes for protection. This Charmander and this Totodile will not be able to save them all... in fact, they won't save anyone.
He turned to Mew... "Track them down and kill them." he ordered. She already knew who her master was talking about, her mind totally one with his wishes. The puppet nodded as her empty gaze confirmed silently that she had understood and in a flash of light, the Legendary cat Pokemon was gone, off to hunt down the ones who destroyed her master's meteor.
Turning away from the sky, the mastermind opened a portal to the depths of the deepest cave, at the entrance of the Abyss. The time has come to regroup and prepare for his next plan. He understimated this world, he admit it... but he shall not make this mistake twice.
Next time he unleash his power, this world shall be doomed and his vision shall finally become true.
=THE END
