I've only played a little bit of the first, well into Super, Prime and Prime 2. I haven't really enjoyed any Metroid game except the first.

Metroid Prime 2 because you get to fight Dark Samus and I also like the music when get to fight it.

Aww... Crap.
Either Zero Mission or Fusion. The Prime series doesn't do to much for me. :/

I'm going to go with Metroid Prime. Nice, visually varied environments, weapons with their own real strengths and weaknesses, and they didn't cost any ammo.

You do know why the implanted the new weapons in the first place, correct? To balance the weapons. Still though, I think they could have done fine without the ammo, though that ruins the Power Beam's pontential. Light beam was a slower Plasma beam, Dark/Anniliahtar (sp?) beam were faster to there corresponding weapons.

I like them all the same, but Metroid Prime was the first one I played so I will say that because it brought me to the amazing story.

Super Metroid. I mean, there are other games, and then there's Super Metroid. It's in a class of its own.

Super Metroid. The next best is Metroid Prime. Hunters was horrible, especially when compared to real FPSes, Prime 2 was way too linear, Zero Mission seemed to much like a watered down version of Super Metroid, the original Metroid is too messed up, and Fusion was also very linear. I've never played Return of Samus.

shove it up ya bum!
Definatly Metroid Prime. I can play that game through over and over again and I always find something I've never seen before. It's just massive. And it never gets boring.

I say that Metroid Fusion was my favorite of the Metroid series. It's the one that I've played the most from the series and I've beaten it so many times.

Balance? Thanks to the ammo system, I never used those beams unless I absolutely had to with doors, Ing Hunters, and bosses.

What other Metroid games have you played?

Well, I have yet to completel Hunters and Prime 2 (yes, I am slow at completing games) but I thought that Fusion was pretty good.

From what I have played on Hunters, I am not all that impressed with it. The controls just don't feel all that natural to me.

I liked both Metroid Prime 1 and 2 the best, beautiful enviornments, the scans, the enemies, the stories

I love the Metroid series too. I once tried Zero Mission because I wasn't interested in Metroid, but wanted to try one to see how it was, and I absolutely loved it. Every single moment. I love the music of the Metroid games, I love the amazing atmosphere, I love the Prime's stories etc.

My favorite Metroid game would have to be Metroid Prime by far. It's also my favorite game ever created, period. It's just amazing. And believe me, there are many games and I talk highly about a lot of ones, but deep in my heart, I don't mean it as much as when I talk about Metroid Prime. Every good word I say about it, I mean the full 100% and then some. Metroid Prime is a masterpiece, a work of art and a legendary first attempt from Retro Studios. How many developers can say their first game is THAT good?
