Mew and Mewtwo are not available as Rentals anywhere, however you will battle Mew for the Prime Cup Master Ball challenge (only in Round 1- Round two the trainer has Celebi instead).

If you want to battle with them, you have to import them from Red, Blue or Yellow. [commonknowledge]Mewtwo can be caught at level 70 after beating the Elite Four, Mew can be found at level 7 through use of the Mew Cheat (and yes, it does exist).[/commonknowledge]
I believe Mewtwo is available as a Rental on Pokémon Stadium 1 in Round 2, though, not that it helps if you only have Stadium 2.

Yep, The Mew cheat does exist. Ha, I remember showing my friends that I filled my boxes up with Mew's for future games. Sadly they had to change the coding from GSC to RSE so alas, the Mews are stuck in my game. Thats how you get Mew and Mewtwo

MEW was a rental in Round 2, Mewtwo was a GOD in RBY, they could not just rent him out, he would have won the cup alone. (I know, my Mewtwo from the games did that)

And Mewtwo isn't necessarily some kind of god of the first generation- Mewtwo's pretty damn strong, but it's not like he could beat a whole cup on his own. Heck, for the Elite Four of Gym Leader Castle I had to use him with my Articuno, Zapdos, Blastoise and Charizard because he fainted on the trainer's third Pokémon...okay, that's kinda a lie; he beat most of them by himself. >> Most, not all.

If your Mewtwo EVER fainted on Stadium 1 (or really, even 2 also)unless it was to the Masterball gambler, who had all 1HKO moves] than your Mewtwo is just not that good, with Blizzard and Psychic EVERY Pokemon on Stadium 1 dies in one or two hits (except Chansey) With Amnesia and Recover, he is unstopable. The Elite 4 and Gary don't stand a chance either. Mewtwo needs no back up, there is a reason they give you SIX Pokemon to beat the boss on the game, because Mewtwo was a god in the first generation. Your only real hope to beat him with rentals was Electrode T-wave, and LUCK.

Mewtwo is strong but actually from my experience in Stadium 1, my Mewtwo is very much a god. Roks is all I need when I do a Prime Cup Masterball challenge. Also Cloud, Amnesia isn't exactly needed but still pretty damn useful anyways. As for the Mewtwo battle in S1, I would love to see a home-trained Mewtwo versus a godly S1 Mewtwo.

For your information, I have yet to use Mewtwo in the Prime Cup and obviously I couldn't enter him in anything else. Plus I never taught Mewtwo any TM moves. I was never big on creating movesets back in the first two generations and the only time I used up a lot of TMs was in my Yellow version, and it was to clear up room for more items in my PC/pack. In my other games I don't think I ever used up a TM except for the practical ones like Headbut and Rock Smash. XP

Oh, and btw, Mewtwo on Stadium One can be beated with two Pokémon, yes, you heard me: TWO. And I have done it more than once, so it wasn't a matter of luck.


And please don't talk to me about how powerful Mewtwo is, because I know. Self-proclaimed Mewtwo-obsessed freak. Prove me wrong by telling me you want him in bed. Not kidding. :3

Ive beaten Mewtwo in S1 with two pokemon as well, my own Mewtwo and my Charizard. But Mewtwo wasn't really that godly, Mew was better.
