Hidey Ho everyone! Whats the deal with the Mew Tutor?!! I want to teach my Mew trick, and he's the only way to do it, but for some reason I can get him to teach every other exclusive move BUT trick! Plus I'm sure that i have not seen 100 move combination out of him, why is he holding out on me? I seriouslly have been at ths for hours. Can someone tell me if theres some trick to answering his question, because it doesn't seem like it matters what you answer to me!

It depends on your answers. I've done a bit of research into the Mew Tutor myself, and I've found that the question "What kind of Mew do you want it to be?" is an important one. If you choose "Strong" you should get powerful moves, "Kind" for healing moves, "Odd" for unusual moves and so on. So I'd say always choose "An odd Mew" and keep trying.

That's my guess.

You know waht annoys me? WHY did Nintendo put this in the US version? How are you supposed to get Mew?

My guess is this: At the National VideoGame Tournament, there will be a booth, where you will be able to get an OLDSEACHART, and go to Faraway Island to capture Mew. After that, if you've completed XD: Gale of Darkness, you can trade Mew into the game, and you will be able to meet the Mew Tutor.

How are you supposed to get Mew?

Faraway Island Warp Trick on GameShark SP. Problem solved. I already have Mew that way. The official Mew that does not disobey you and is caught on "Faraway Island".

To answer this threads question, did you cheat a Mew? If he's not able to get any of the moves, it's because you didn't get the Faraway Island Mew.

My Mew is athentic, the AR code for the oldseachart gives you the real deal, this mew will obay you and is caught at far away Island. (its e124b2b1 a46b45ab if anyone wants it) According to the Serebii file on Mew he can only learn faint attack,fake out, hypnosis, night shade,trick, and zap cannon from the Mew Tutor.... i can get him to teach me all of them except the one i want..and that is Trick. So is our resourse wrong? I have spent many long hours trying and testing different combos of the answers... I don't think the mew tutor teaches trick at all, but I hope so and will keep trying. Has anyone else experimented with this? A Mew with a choice band and the trick move could be a really tough fighter!

You have it slightly wrong, unless I'm misunderstanding your post. Those six moves (Zap Cannon, Trick, et al.) are the six that Mew can't learn any other way--there are still 94 other moves the Mew Tutor can teach.

Like I said, keep mix 'n' matching answers to try and get Trick. I still suspect it's triggered by some combo with "An odd Mew."

No, he is capable of teaching those moves, but the ones listed are the only ones that cannot be taught any other way (move tutor, TM/HM, etc.). So in essence, it is just pointing out the new few moves that Mew can learn through the XD tutor.

well here's the final word on this... atleast in the US version I can definitly say that the Mew tutor does NOT teach Mew "trick". He teaches him "role play" all the others are correct. I've spent the fast 6 to 8 hours testing this. Role Play is not on the list that Mew can even learn according to Serebii's file on Mew..don't believe me, check it out. The questions the Tutor ask have no bearing on what moves he offers, again I have tested every combination and it makes no difference what you answer for anything. I guess thats the problem with catching a pokemon that you shouldn't be able to catch, no one else knows all the details on them. anyway, thanks for everyones input, and now, if you care, you know... and knowings half the battle!

No, you don't get Mew in this game lmao You get it in Emerald by the Old Sea Chart in Faraway Island.

I think a cheated Mew won't obey you from what I've read, and a Island one will. By not obey you I assume people mean like if you trade a level 90 Salamence to a file with no badges, how it will ignore commands and stuff.

Yes, a cheated Mew, as stated, do not obey you at all. Even if you have all 8 badges. However, you can CHEAT the Faraway Mew too. See, when doing so, the cheated Faraway Mew can obey you. How? When the cheat is activated, you have to be inside a house. For the code to work, there is a button combination you do on the SP or GBA and you have to hold down the buttons. Hold down the buttons and walk out of the house. As soon as you do that, you appear on Faraway Island (when I was on the GameShark SP, I appeared right next to Mew, enabling me to battle it right away) right near the Mew. You capture it and it obeys you 100%.

Even if the Faraway Mew is cheated, the Mew is caught on Faraway Island (which is the legit location) so it will not disobey you.
