Microsoft makes a deal with the devil

Microsoft has wasted no time in establishing their Xbox 360 properties with licensors; Perfect Dark Zero comics, a Kameo: Elements of Power CG film and comics, and now a "unique children's entertainment property" created in collaboration with 4Kids Entertainment.
It sounds like Microsoft Game Studios will handle the brunt of the work in developing the property while 4Kids Entertainment reaps the benefits of being the exclusive worldwide agent handling broadcast, home video, music and merchandise licensing rights.

Microsoft executive VP Peter Moore already promised we'd see more from companies like Rare in the spring, neatly coinciding with the supposed launch of PlayStation 3 - or at least more details about the mysterious beast. Considering their past pedigree with games like Grabbed By the Ghoulies and even Kameo, they'd be a natural fit.

With the success 4Kids Entertainment has had with Pokemon, it's no surprise Microsoft pursued them. "We are confident our strong track record in developing integrated marketing and merchandising programs designed specifically for kids will enhance the future success of Microsoft Game Studios," says 4Kids Entertainment chairman and CEO Alfred Kahn.

One can assume this could have something to do with Akira Toriyama's Blue Dragon, which is getting its own manga and could POSSIBLY be adapted to an anime, as well as the fact that it's the most kid friendly franchise that the XBox360 has going for it. If so you can bet crap voices for the characters (if any voiceover at all), unless of course we get the Dragon Quest 8 treatment and get natural speaking actors.

On the topic though, I'm rather hopeful Blue Dragon does see an anime release. It's been a while since anything originally drawn by Akira Toriyama gets made into animated format that isn't Dragon Ball related. o_o

There is a greater evil that Microsoft and that is 4Kids Entertainment. However, they have now made an alliance vowed to destroy all anime.

I wonder if this is why nintendo is distancing itself from 4Kids.

I have a soft spot for Rare, it's too bad that their property is gonna get thrown around like so many pikachu plushies

And 4kids... if they were ever going to make a Kameo CGI, I'd always pray as hell 4kids wouldn't get involved.
