    Twentington Outta here!

    1. what's transpired these last few days wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be and
    2. going off a suggestion someone gave me,

    I'm bringing Millionaire back.

I'm dropping the audition, that was a bit much.

(from here on out, I'll be copying the rules from my last try at Millionaire)

All the contestants who have made it into the Fastest Finger portion compete, minus any that have finished their turn in the Hot Seat. Here, the host will read a question where four answers have to be put in a given order that is mentioned in the question. Take for example this question:

Put these Michael Jackson albums in chronological order.
    A. Dangerous B. HIStory
    C. Off the Wall D. Thriller

After the question is read, the Fastest Finger contestants have 48 hours to send the sequence of answers they think is the correct answer, such as BACD. After 48 hours or when all the contestants have sent in their answer order, the host reveals the correct order of the answers, which is in this question CDAB. After the answer is revealed, the host reveals who got the question right in the fastest time. This player will enter the Hot Seat for a chance at one million dollars. The other players will remain in the Fastest Finger section until they win a fastest finger. Open spots will not be refilled until the end of the episode.

    Wikipedia again:

Once a contestant is in the "hot seat," their goal is to correctly answer 15 consecutive multiple-choice questions of increasing difficulty from progressively harder sets of questions. Each question is worth a specified amount of money.
Upon correctly answering questions five and ten, the contestant is guaranteed at least the amount of prize money associated with that level. If the contestant gives a wrong answer to any subsequent question, their game is over and their winnings will drop down to the last milestone achieved. If the contestant answers a question incorrectly before reaching question five, they leave with nothing. However, the contestant has the option of "walking away" without giving an answer after being presented with a question. In this case, the game ends and the contestant is awarded the amount of money the contestant earned for a previous correct answer.

The money ladder, from bottom to top, bold indicates milestone:

The contestant starts with three lifelines to help them out, which can only be used once each. They are:

50/50: The computer eliminates two incorrect answers, leaving one incorrect answer and the correct answer. The eliminated incorrect answers are randomly determined.

Ask the Audience: When this lifeline is used, anyone watching the thread is invited to PM the host what they think the answer is, not including the player themself. After 48 hours, these results are tabulated and shown to the player.

Phone a Friend: The player chooses a member of the Serebii Forums who they believe would know the answer to the question. If said member accepts, the player and the member have 30 seconds (48 hours) to discuss what they think the answer is.

Additional lifelines are earned at the $1,000 and $32,000 marks. They are:

Double Dip: earned at $1,000, this allows the player to select two answers, one at a time. However, once the contestant confirms use of this lifeline, the contestant is committed to playing out the question and can not walk away or use any further lifelines for the remainder of the question. A second incorrect answer ends the game and drops the player back to the last milestone achieved.

Switch the Question: The contestant earns this lifeline upon answering the $32,000 question correctly. The computer replaces, at the contestant's request, one question with another of the same monetary value. Any lifelines used on the original question prior to the switching are not reinstated.

Contestants who appear in the hot seat are then ineligible to play for the next 3 episodes.

For the record, the average number of questions in an 'episode' will be cut down to about 20-25 questions. I realized last time that 40 questions would be about 2 hours in real time television, and that would be a bit bulky, don't you think?

NOTE: As with the previous version of this, all questions will be from various subjects of trivia.

Ten people will be needed to take the spots in the Ring of Fire should this get past the mods.

    Sounds fun, I'm in! :)
I love Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.

Edit: Saw the end of your other thread (Millionaire), sorry it didn't fare out so well! I know how that is, when you try to get something going and keep it going and have almost nobody participate. It's difficult, but I'll be sure, if I'm a contestant, to make sure I stay active!

After I saw we filled the last spot, I immediately heard the Millionaire starting music (you know, when it goes from high pitched to low pitched and sounds all serious before Regis starts talking).
  17. Twentington

    Twentington Outta here!

    And here we go!

(fade up on Regis in a somewhat dimmed studio as this music (link) plays)

Regis: It was thirteen years ago in this studio that history was made. For the first time, regular people had the chance at fame and the ultimate prize in television - one million dollars. Tonight, the legacy continues! People just like you have been calling in to our contestant hotline in the hopes of making it into the ring of fire. Ten of them have taken their knowledge this far; the question stands, can they take it farther tonight?! We'll find out right now, as from New York, we play Who Wants to be a Millionaire?!

(the title sequence plays, as we get shots of New York and clips from the pilot for the return, to much applause and cheering)

(cut to the studio, and a standing ovation as Regis comes out in the usual way)

Regis: (as the applause settles down) Thank you, everybody! (once the applause settles down) Thank you, and good evening, we're back!

You know, since the specials a couple years back, I've been waiting for the call from ABC, and I finally got it!

    (more applause)

But let's not focus on that, let's focus on these people. They've flown in from many places for their shot at one million dollars, and they are!:

    Chidori O!

    Ghosts of the Forums!

    and Lati!

    (applause as the cue finishes)

You know how it works, first person to put the answers in the right order goes into the hot seat for a chance at the million!

Let's get down to business, let's see the first Fastest Finger of the return!

Put these famous rebellions in order, starting with the earliest.

    A. Tiananmen Square B. Arab Spring
    C. Turkish War D. October Revolution

(you have 48 hours, PM your answers, please)
  18. CuriousHeartless

    CuriousHeartless You are so dead.

As such, updates will be limited the next few days.
