Mimicing Fissure for the battle CD

Come on and SLAM!
The battle CD where you are forced to OHKO the 3 Magikarps seems pretty simple. Using the guide on Serebii, I whipped the snot out of all my foes except for that CD. Why? Speed issue.

Turn 1: Switch out Spheal for Poliwhirl. Smeargle uses Mind Reader.
Turn 2: Poliwhirl uses Mimic. It fails. Smeargle uses Fissue.

Poliwhirl's too fast! What do I need to do to make this work in time?

First, you mind read the one that Smeragle DIND'T mind read with poliwhirl, then you mimic your smeragle the next round.
