Mirage Island Forever?

My friend says that his Mirage Island always stays because his Berry Glitch in his Sapphire Version occured on the same day Mirage Island appeared, I believe it because he showed me himself at Mirage Island on the same day he told me this. Is this true or was he unaffected by the berry glitch and he just showed me Mirage Island on the same day it had the same Pokemon in his party with the same code as Mirage Island?

Well, I am not 100% sure, but since the Berry Glitch stops all time-based events from taking place, then it would probably keep Mirage Island forever, at least until the berry glitch is fixed. Normally, Mirage Island is only supposed to be around for a day, and then disappear. That is why you don't plant the Liechi Berries that you find on Mirage Island in the soil on Mirage Island.

the occurance of mirage island is time based / randomized number based
so if he was that lucky to get mirage island and that unlucky? to have the berry glitch occur, then yes the game shouldn't know that any time whatsoever has passed and would therefore leave Mirage island there indefinately or until the berry glitch is fixed.
That is unless the occurance of mirage island isn't being accurately defined.
if he wants to keep it like that then the only way he could trade anything out would be to make sure he only trades with a pokemon ruby/saphire or collosseum seeing as those games did not include the berryglitch update.
Connecting to a preorder disc, fire red, leaf grean, emerald, and i'm not sure but possibly XD and the newer versions of colosseum should immeadteatky start a patching process when the link begins.

You'll be on Mirage Island until you leave the island and the screen that you can see it in. Basically, once you leave the island and can't see it any more, it's gone.
