Miranda is the woman who talks to Officer Jenny in Mewtwo Strikes Back about ancient legends surrounding Pokemon. Her demenour is very wise and solemn - just like a Xatu. Hence I wouldn't be surprised if that was her main Pokemon.

I think that Miranda is a very interesting character who could have been expanded on, but unfortunately you can't bring a movie character into the main series, not even for one episode - it's not been done so far anyway. But even in the movie, I think she deserved more airtime than she got.
