I prefer her hoso outfit since it resembles and has similar characteristics of her old Kanto/Johto outfit.

As for May, anything colorful that doesn't overdo it on the red. That specific hair shade she has in the tv show (not in the movies) just doesn't look good with red.

May: A black shirt with a pokeball on it with a red jacket on top with black jeans...
Misty: White shirt with a blue crystal embroidered in the center, light blue jacket and white slightly loose jeans...

Plus it's supposed to be cold in shinou and Dawn probably wears special insulated underwear to keep her warm in the nether regions...
There are "certain" things about japanese anime that make me uncomfortable and one of them is the objectification of the female charecters which thankfully only happens in anime with no story what so ever....
