MKDS Features

As I did with ACWW, it is time for MKDS. First I found pictures which include proof of one of the eight known secret characters (four known), and possible neo Rainbow Road
mkdsdaisy.jpg

These are the four known secret Characters (daisy is shown above lower screen. Circled red):
Dry Bones
Waluigi
Daisy
Shy Guy (possible not a secret character)
R.O.B. (Thanks to Dragonair for finding this character)

I thought I saw Toadsworth. Daisy screenshot, towards the right.

Enjoy!

PS: This game will be realeased Nov. 14th (Source: Nintendo.com)

IGN got their hands on this game.
http://ds.ign.com/articles/664/664149p1.html

Two new weapons are a Blooper, which will spray ink on the opponents screen, making it difficult to see. Another is Bullet Bill, transforming you into a super-fast invincible Bullet Bill for a period of time. While the coin system is gone, you can draft behind other karts, meaning you get up right behind them, build up momentum, and then zoom off to wherever.

Lag? Only 4 players? Darn, this game is already awsome but these two things..

8 players would cause even more lag though I guess.

Actually 8 players can play, if they don't do it via 4-player. Also you can design the hood of your kart. The painting system is similiar to AC tailor shop.

Also DJ-will, you forgot to say that Bomb-omb is a normal item now, since you where talking about items. Also you can see the ink in one of the screen shots in the link above.

I just read something that is a first: America will actually get MKDS BEFORE Japan (US=11/14; Japan=12/8) Source IGN

Where's my fanfare?
Actually America's gotten games before Japan previously. I believe Metroid Prime 2 was one of those games.

Just to check, when is the game being released in Europe? I herd somewhere that it was 25/11 (11/25 for americans) but that would mean it's being released before Japan. Also, the Minish Cap was released in Europe before Japan or America which shows it's happened before.

P.S. On the first post you put "ACDS" instead of "MKDS" at least I think you ment MKDS.

I believe its nov. 25 or something like that. Europe is getting MKDS before Japan because Japan gets ACWW on or around the 14th. Also US. gets MKDS on nov. 14. I don't know when europe gets ACWW but, U.S. gets it dec. 8

Sounds good to me however, I've been looking around in the shops and such and I've seen many pre-orders for MKDS but none for the WiFi Connector thingy. Is there a reason to this, anybody know?

Note: Every indivial character gets three karts only THEY can use, and there are 4 other karts that are shared among all characters.

Also in regards to Multiplayer:

Characters: You can only use a secret character if the player(s) have the same character(s).

Karts: You can use all secret karts regerdless if the opposing player(s) have it or not.

Also, the 8 starter characters are those of N64+MKSC. They have statics (except for speed/acceleration) as of the N64+MKSC. The kart determians Speed in acceleration.

Battle Mode:
In Battle Mode, you can have single player.

Wait, isn't R.O.B. a Starfox character. SCARY. I thought it was just Mario characters. Either they stopped that trend or there is going to be a game where Mario and Crew most team up with Fox and crew. I think option A is more reasonable. Well there is going to be a mission mode, which is completed upon certain challenges. Among those, there will be these following missions:

1-1 Drive through 5 tyres in order

1-2 Collect 15 coins

1-3 Destroy 10 boxes

1-4 Destroy 5 Cheep Cheep while using a star

1-5 Drive through 6 tyres in order

1-6 Drive around Luigi's Mansion in reverse and something about salt (unclear)

1-7 Collect 20 coins

1-8 Unclear

1-B Something that involves a Bully (bad guy from SM64). Either race him or fight him

2-1 Something about 10 wooden draws

2-2 Collect 10 coins

2-4 Destroy 5 objects

2-6 Use Bob-ombs to destroy 5 Pokeys

2-7 Drive through 10 tyres in order

2-B Hit the eye of the hand with 3 shells (the boss from Shifting Sand Land, SM64).

Also this site has a lot of screenshots of items, and some video of courses: mariokart.com

I don't think it's R.O.B. from Star Fox but is infact R.O.B. which attached to the NES. It stands for Robotic Opperating Buddy and connected with the NES. It came with 2-3 games and you controlled it witht he NES contoller. It's jkust a gimmick that Nintendo always throws in. Like Mr. Game and Watch in SSBM.

well I'm still mad that Rob is in it. Yes, it isn't the same one from starfox but it was based off of the attachment. I'm mad though there were a lot more characters that people were hoping for especially Koopa Troopa since he was in the original mario kart. Also Nintendo said that there were 16 playable characters there are only 12 in that one pic. R.O.B would've been nice as a SSBM character since it is Nintendo welcome instead of being in a mario only game.

MKDS comes out today!!!

Something hit me. Note, to help people out, all known characters where found by pictures. Anyways, either Nintendo is lying or they are telling the truth (I personally doubt the latter) but Shy Guy may not be a secret character.

PS: The rainbow like course is Waluigi Pinball. I saw the Waluigi name the first time, but I didn't know if they will have a credits (to playable characters) of some-sort like in N64

Battle Course (I just guessed the names)

I think I was the first person in Calgary who got Mario Kart DS, because it was'nt due on store shelves today, but I got lucky. I did'nt even pre-order it. I don't have it online though. Anyways I was sure Shy Guy was single cart Multi-Player exclusive. For a bonus, the battle mode areas are: Nintendo Ds, Twilight House, Palm Shore, Tart Top, Block Fort, and Pipe Plaza. There might be secrets though.

It said in flyers in my newspaper that mario kart will be there on like Thursday, but since today is the release most places will have it I guess. Im not going to get mario kart until this Saturday or around Thanksgiving. Im pretty sure there will be unlockables . So, when can you get shy guy? It says here http://mariokart.com/mkds/launch/index.html only on download play. Its cool you got it today too.
P.S. When you bought it was there the Nintendo WiFi USB Connector? If so how much was it?( its not on any American website)
