MKDS hates me.

The Thrashmeister

<-- Made of awesome.
Okay, I was in a Wi-Fi race this morning, and I was on the last two races. I was winning as well. Suddenly, my R button began to stick, and I wasn't able to drift or powerslide, which lost me the entire race, 34-30.

I decided to play time trials for a while, to see if I could unstick the R button. However, while I was playing, it never stuck. I could drift and powerslide fine. So I decided to go back to Wi-Fi.

I was confident. My R button was unstuck. So I got into a race. But what do you know, my R button stuck again and I was unable to drift or powerslide for the entire race! This happened once more, after I went back into time trials to test it again.

What happened? Should I send it back to Nintendo or what?

I'd trying cleaning it first, such as trying to scrub out the inside with a Q-tip. I havn't tried it myself, but I've heard it works pretty well.

Sure you're not sweating with the excitement of playing online :p? The only time I've ever had a button stick was with my old N64 which we bought second hand anyway. As long as you treat your system ok, I don't think any buttons should stick, so not sure if Nintendo could help you there. Guess the best you can do is try to clean it yourself as Bayleef said :(.

You're too slow!
Yeah, not to get off topic, but my gamecube controller used to stick(or was it the disc cover button? Ah, well :p)

I think this must be a common problem.

See, what happens is some gunk and dirt gets stuck near the opening and causes it to stick.

Mine gets stuck every once in a while.
