So many people complain that sums like 20 grand are exhausting to their wallet. Unless youre horrible, lazy or both, its quite easy. I never play more than an hour a day, and i make a minimum of 50 grand ( 100 grand when my trees bear fruit).

Its pretty simple. Dont waste youre time on shells, unless ther worth more than 300 bells. Never pick local fruit, unless youre late at night and looking for wishy the star.

Fish a lot. If youre not horible, you can at least catch a few snappers, maybe a tuna. Ive also noticed you get better fish when nook is closed for remodeling. In winter, BITTERLINGS ARE YOUR BREAD AND BUTTER! There easy to catch and are worth 900 a pop. And dont forget to take advantage of rain and snow.

Heck, I have 2 mill in my acount, a second level in my house and still excellent production. So please, even if you have 15 minutes a day, you can at least get 5 to 10 grand.

Hope this helps.

Yeeeaaah...

This is pretty much common knowledge. I can make 100,000 bells a day easy, but I don't really try. >>;

Shells are one of my main income sources, even the ones worth LESS than 300 bells.

Local fruit is one of my main income sources as well, but only when I'm out of coconuts.

My income sources are shells, fruit (local and native), money rocks, and item surplus. It was quite easy to get a second floor on my house without following your...guide.

I just sell anything I buy for more than I bought it for. You can make a pretty penny just doing that. But this stragety is better in the beginning.

Bitterlings sell for 1,300 bells.
There are many fish, insects, and fossils that sell for more.
Tuna: 7000 bells
Coelecanth/ Stringfish: 15,000 (The rarest fishes)
Giant Stag Beetle: 10,000 (The rarest bug)

If you want to save money, never buy anything from villagers, especially if you don't know what the item is, unless you want their pics.

thank you captain obvious (and T Lord, bitterlings do sell for 900 bells, not 1,300. if you don't believe me, then sell one by itself to our racoon friend.)

sorry, that was mean, good strategy! ^_^ You may also want to mention the money rock and feng shui (it's extremely easy to find colored furniture in this game.) My main source of income is fish, but i fish in the ocean (sea butterfly+football fish+red snapper+tuna & since i'm lucky, coelacanth= immense income)

Yep, even in the first Animal Crossing, fishing was the best source of income.

Here's a little tip thrashmeister, instead of watching the lure, put your finger on the A button and your ear next to the speaker. When you hear the little 'plop' noise when the fish bites, press A. You don't even have to look @ the screen. If you have semi-decent reflexes, it should make fishing a lot easier. And does it bug anybody else that the way the waves move in the ocean is different than the direction the bobber moves. The waves move towards the beach while the bobber moves away... hmmm

In the original AC, they sold for 1,300 bells.

Yes, Tuna are good and sell for 7,000 bells.
Oh, you're right. Bitterlings sell for 900.

The majority of my income probably comes from football fish, because they are so common, i have been seeing a lot of tuna lately, even more than red snappers... o.0

I can easily make 40000+ bells a day with 3 ppl

8500 per bell rock, 3 fossils, item trading/favors, balloons, and lotsa fruit and fish.

The trick is to use only the cheapest items in letters. A cardboard box is like 100 bells, plus in addition to gifts you find good stuff in recycling

Umm...just thought i'd tell you T Lord there is no rarest fish/bug in the game. There is just rare, theres rare bug and rare fish but no rarest fish/bug.

In fishing "contests" with villagers, they usually want the most expensive fish, regardless of rarity. Bitterlings and sea butterflies are pretty common but still win frequently.

I find it rarely worth the trouble to scout out stringfish and Tuna.
