How come the marts don't buy moonstones off of you?

because then you could just go off evolving any moonstone pokemon, it needs to be challenging

Because they are rare items that you cant get many of and without it things in your game would be impossible.

I think the only unsellable items are moon stones, master balls, every HM and every key item. They dhould make exp shares unsellable too because they are so useful and you only get one per game. ;123;

PD: You can get them form a Lunatone, sometimes.

In all games before GBA, you could sell any item not a key item. However, some rare ones (such as Moon Stones or Master Balls) had a selling price of ¥0 to keep you from selling them. In the Advanced Gen, Game Freak just decided to make them completely unsellable.
