More Massive Pokemon?

ChaosMage

Izit cuz I is black?
Do you guys remember the good ol'd days of Kanto, where the small and cute reigned supreme. But there was one exception- the 28-foot Onix. There were plenty of funny moments to be made of Onix's awkward size, and it proved a formidable and useful pokemon for Brock (and even more so now that it's evolved into Steelix). After Brock left for a bit, the 1,000 pound Snorlax hoved its way into view. It was awkward, constantly hungry, usually not very obedient- and there was never a dull moment!
However, in Hoenn, this lessened, and not one pokemon exceeded four feet (except Ludicolo) in the whole saga. Even though the gang's pokemon gradually evolved, they were all very sleak and fast. Imagine the hilarity of one trainer (in the gang or Team Rocket) trying to control a particularly large and heavy pokemon- whose strong in battle but a nuisance around feeding time.

Let's look at some likely candidates from D/P...

-Now, Dotaitos is 'uge (way bigger than anything else Ash has had in a while), and Naetle's personality will mean that Ash will have a few bumps and bruises from that thing. But, let's face it, we'd be lucky to even get it in the next few seasons.
-If anyone gets a Kabarudon, whose 6'07" and 661lbs, that would be hilarious. And by the looks of its sprite it's pretty lazy and loud. That'll make a good addition to the team for both inside and outside of battle.
-Yukinoh would be cool as well at 7'3" and nearly 300lbs, and just imagine a pokemon that starts a massive hailstorm every time it gets angry!
-Because there are so few completely new pokemon in D/P (and they've already prepared for this by giving Ash an Aipom before the saga started), I don't think that evolved forms of old pokemon are out of the question for the team at all. In fact, they'll probably want to make quite a big deal of them. Therefore, I think that Dosaidon, Mojanbo, Manmuu, Dainoosu and Yonowaaru all fit what I'm looking for as well.

Unfortunately, the creators are yet to create a new Onix- an extreme unevolved pokemon of gargantuum size- so a pokemon like this is yet to appear until the gang start getting evolved pokemon. Shame.

i think onix should be evolved and have a split evolution.

Onix was always the best thing about the early seasons of the anime. His ridiculous huge-ness was most amusing. But of course he got pewter'd, the same way Kingler and Muk got Oak'd. I try and steer clear of the anime now, becaue anything that I like ends up shunted to the background.

More on topic, I'd rather see Steelix make a return as a regular than a whole new monster breaking in.

Are you talking about Brock's steelix? It'd be great to see him call upon his reserve pokemon like Ash does from time to time (which is once in a blue moon).

I'd like to see Brock's Steelix more often. It would be good for sending Team rocket to fly far away.

I love this idea. Not many Hoenn (or Johto for that matter) Pokemon were huge. Which, now looking back was one of the best things about Kanto/OI. It'd be nice to see Ash with a Dotaitos purely because of its size, as it would be by far his biggest Pokemon in terms of height, and second only to Snorlax in weight.

I could see Brock with the Alpine Tree, Yukinooh. It's not too unlike Ludicolo, and it does have the added bonus of being a huge snowy tree!

Kabarudon is also a good choice for Ash, if he were to get a giant Poke. It could fit well as his Fire replacement, mostly due to it's Fire Fang capabilities.

If either Ash or Brock gets Yukikinooh it will be the next snorunt and be the next onix. Now that is a scary combination. And what would be really funny(AND BAD) would be if Naetoru evolved into Dotaitos and ATE Ash. But that would be the end of the show.

Dorapion was pretty much made for Team Rocket.

I'd start a petition for Brock to get his Steelix back, but we know that they won't look at it.

If Ash gets a giant it would be Doitaitis(atleast I wish), it's EQ abilities could cause major ownage!

If Ash gets a giant pokemon, then I think dotaitos would be it. And I don't think hikari will have any giant pokemon; she IS a coordinator.

Ash's giant sinnoh Pokemon(if he gets one) will be Dotaitos. I'm looking forward to seeing the chaos it causes

Well you've gotta look at it, back in the ol' days of Kanto, {excluding legendaries] Snorlax, Onix and Gyarados were the largest pokemon around, Johto didnt really have many besides Steelix, and each of the Original characters has one of these, Now as for Hoenn none of their pokes were really big accept Wailord and that would have just been a waste of a pokeball, Now as for Dotaitos it is possible since the Head-biting gag could go on a while and Karburadon is the same but dont expect any New-Age Onix's in the near future

It makes sense that there's only a few huge pokemon. Think about the animals in the real world... there isn't that many that can truly be called "massive".
