4th generation have come out and most of them seem to be pre-evolutions. Maybe the creators of pokemon have run out of ideas

Most of them? So there are only 6 pokemon coming out? >>

Evolutions help a Pokemon far more than pre-evolutions. While you might get a few egg moves from pre-evos, evos can provide a Pokemon with a larger movepool of TMs. Besides, it's not like egg moves can't be altered/expanded. It's simple; evolutions for the win over pre-evolutions.

They usually show off a few of the smaller or cuter pokes first. For example, we didn't see Ursaring and Houndoom and the like first, we got Snubble and Marill, and Togepi. No disrespect meant to them, but with the exception of Donphan, we got to see the cooler ones later.
Just have patience.

Six? I count 3 pre-evos, one new evo, and one new legendary. Unless you mean the Pokemon announced to be announced for the next movie.

I bet that we've already seen all the new pre-evos. There were only two in R/S/E, and in GSC it was due to a new gimmick.

Yeah, D/P discussion.
Anyway, what Pokémon need pre-evos? A lot are too small for pre-evos. Try the non evolving Pokémon.

all non-evolution pokemon will prob get evos or pre-evos eventually (except Ubers and Unown... doubt Castform also). Heracross, Roselia, Solrock, Lunatone, Corsela etc. And I'm surprised there hasn't been a pre-evo Kangaskhan yet!

No, they're not running out of ideas. They're releasing cute looking baby pokémon purely for marketting purposes. This way they can sell more Pokédolls, figures and other such things and continue to milk the franchise for all its worth.

There are hundreds upon thousands of man-made objects, flora and fauna to base pokémon on. There's also the fact that they often make up their own strange monster ideas. Its going to be a long time before the pokémon well runs dry.

"They're running out of ideas" = serious pet peeve.

They don't need pre-evolutions, because the matter of more and more and more babies will just make Pokemon a bit usless in battle, so a thought of having Pokemon like Farfetch'D and Corsola evolve would be enjoyable.

I dont think so. I remember it being said that this gen. will have many pre evos and evos.

I think pre-evos are accually a good idea. Cmon, can you imagine a chansey hatching another chansey the same size as it? Same with Khangaskhan (sorry for the spelling), Lapras and a lot of other pokemon .

Come to think of it, wouldn't most consider the Kangaskhan baby the pre-evolution of it's origional self? I swear, if they don't do that in Diamond/Peral, I'll be scratching my head about it for quite some time.

Pre-evos are unneccassary because they are just weaker forms of pokemon we already have. Evolutions on the other hand ares stronger, so they are always welcome like Blissey for example.

They're not running out of ideas. Let's just say they want to make a bit of sense. It's not logic to have a 500 Kilos beast hatching from an Egg, or a certainly tall tree imitator. Oh well... it's not logic to have a baby be born with another baby on its pouch, but whatcha gonna do? Over-cutesy crap > Sensical additions...

And get more advertisement wh*res.

Still, I hope those are the only ones. Eszett sumed it up. Evolutions help much more in the long run, and even alternative evolutions (Though all of them so far fall short of the originals in the battlefield...) give you a new vision on the previous one, and a different focus too.

Oh well... we'll have to wait.

Well, I'm not quite as harsh on pre-evos as one might glean from my post. I would actually vouch for a calf pre-evo which would link Tauros and Miltank via a gender/level-based evolution of this creature. It would have a fairly expansive movepool to accomodate for Tauros's painfully narrow one.

Besides that, down with the pre-evos. :p
