Most difficult Pokedex aquisition?

Which Pokemon do you feel is the biggest pain in the butt to aquire, for whatever reason?

Personally, I think the distinction goes to Milotic, hands down.
For instance, let's say you don't even care about egg moves. Even with that step cut out, you still might have to...

*Fish through over 200 individual tiles multiple times
*Aquire a +SA nature
*Plant, water & pick the correct high-level berries
*Do as well as possible on the berry blending minigame

And, after all that, you still might find that you can't get your Beauty up enough due to the Feel of the Pokeblocks... and, hey, if you're going to all this trouble, you may as well use it in battle, right? That means you'll have to hatch dozens of eggs to get one with the correct moves and nature, to say NOTHING of IVs... I've been playing the Generation III games since they came out and Milotic is STILL the only Pokemon I haven't raised - I've even plodded through Colosseum and got Ho-oh, despite the Mt.Battle putting me to sleep 4 nights in a row.


I mean, sure, it's frustrating that only people in 4 or so major cities got a chance at Deoxys, but the time and effort it takes to get Milotic is LEAGUES away from any other pokemon.

Here are some I consider a pain back in my pokedex recollections:

lairon - wild ones know roar
dragonite - level up to high 50's to evolve
magcarpo - slow pokemon to raise up
pupitar - another slow pokemon to raise up
azurill - requires a sea incense to acquire by breeding

Intriguingly, the last of my 382 pokemon to fill my emerald pokedex was a cubone which is rather easy to get in FireRed or LeafGreen.

Feebas/Milotic: 00ber rare... but easy as hell once you get one.
Huntail/Gorebyss: You can only get one of two Items, and it's only one per File... -__-
Random Legendaries: They're a pain to find, and even more so now that they can escape even if asleep... and the Beasts in FR/LG will vanish for good if they Roar. Way to oblige us to use Master Ball on them...
Event Pokémon: 'Nuff said.

Besides that... everything is easy.

The three G/S/C starters, or at least in Emerald. First you have to beat the Elite 4, then you need to complete the entire Hoenn dex which would include getting some of the harder to get pokemon such as Milotic. No idea how hard it is to get them in XD, but I got all three G/S/C starters by playing through Emerald three times and completing the Hoenn dex three times.

In XD, you just have to win 300 Battles. In Colosseum, just going through the Story Mode will earn you the GSC Starters...

Feebas was so irritating. I'd given up on getting it, and I was finally like "Oh, just for the hell of it" and like 5 minutes after...TRA DA! I got a Mild female Feebas...unfortunately, her stats are meh, as I'd not the stat checking guy. I caught 2 more Feebas to breed for different Movesets. I still luff my Milotic though.

Volbeat, Chimecho were a pain to find as well (I found Plusle without looking). And female starters, fossils, etc. are a pain to find. YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MANY EGGS I HATCHED FOR THAT FEMALE TREECKO!

in my emerald i was luckyto see latias my first time and catch it with a ultra ball

GSC Starters: Complete the Pokedex to get one, JUST one, if you dont have the GameCube game...
Event Pokemon: Events arent cheap to get to

Aside from that, high level evolving Pokemon.

For the GSC and Event Pokemon, Im thinking of cheating to get them, I dont know if I should though...

Jirachi, Deoxys, Lugia, Ho-oh, Mew, and Celebi ~ Event Pokemon...I'll never be able to get them.

Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile ~ You only get to choose 1 after completing the Hoenn Poke'dex! I'm so glad that my friend gave me a Cyndaquil and Totodile egg.

Raikou, Entei, and Suicune ~ I hate restarting.

yeah... but that requires buying both games, and playing through both of them fully to get them... and you have no choice on it's stats or nature... got an adamant Ho-oh with crappy IVs? Tough luck...

the nintendo event way seems pretty simple though... you get the ticket that grants you access to both at the same place and time, and you could save and capture'em like any other in-game legendary...

however, that way's pretty much impossible now.

Chansey back then was a major pain to catch!!! Safari Zone that is lol, not so bad when u get to the Dungeon.

Tauros in those games were also VERY hard to find in the Zone and they ran most of the time `_`

Event Pokemon!! - You have to go to a special Nintendo Event in the US but there's none in Canada!!

Event Pokemon - took me forever to get my hands on them.
Suicune/Entei/Raikou/Lati@s - hard to find, rare chance of popping up, not enough master balls in the game to catch on them on first sight and using my tapinch with arena trap is a pain
G/S/C starters - Getting them was a pain, and i had the go through three time, and trading pokemon back and forth took a LONG TIME.
Any starter - had restarting just to get them
Chimecho/Feebas - rare, took forever.
Milotic - took a couple of days to get the berry needed for it to max out beauty
Any pokemon that requires friendship to evolve - grrr...

I know the collusseum/XD ways are flawed, but the events are VERY hard to get to for someone like me at a boarding school in the middle of nowhere that would never take weekend trips to a pokemon event. Because of this, its a godsend to get them through the RPGs

- GSC starters... all that work to get one Pokemon, which I probably wouldn't use anyway because by that point in the game, my team would be set.

- Lunatone. I know this is really basic if you have access to Sapphire. But I don't. I have access to every third-gen GameBoy game but Sapphire. Lunatone is the last Pokemon that I need for my 'dex. It would drive me crazy if I cared a little more.

- Gligar. Drove me absolutely up-the-wall batshit crazy. I can't tell you how many Safari Balls I threw for the damn thing, but it was upwards of 130 before I finally caught one. Horrible nature, of course, but I'm never going to use it so what the hell.

I'd have to say that Huntail/Gorebyss, and special event Pokémon are the hardest for me to acquire.

For me, the hardest most frustrating pokemon for me to aquire for my Emerald pokedex is/will be Squirtle. Why? Cause I have to play all the way throught LeafGreen three times... -.-
As far as I'm concerned catching a Feebas is worlds easier and much less time consuming (even in Emerald, where is seems to have been made much rarer!). I'm now nearing the end of my 2nd play through for Charmander... Blah... I should have bought FireRed, much easier that way... u.u
