Ultra Instinct >>> Bond Phenomenon
My point is it's a bit unbelievable stealthy ninjas couldn't even locate the trainer of the special Greninja anywhere, but are absolutely certain there was one.You know it's possible to use ninja arts to look young and still be old and die from said old age, right? The original Bond Phenomenon was in ancient times and nothing ever hinted that anyone in the village was that old...ever.
My biggest gripe with Ash-Greninja is that the buildup was lazy as hell. All you get is that an ancient hero had a similar Greninja and Ash gets to have it. It's not interesting. It's dull. I would have loved to see Clemont do some reading on this ancient hero or Ash meet the ghost of this ancient hero. Sure, it would still be cliche, but it would be interesting for lore purposes.
While I agree that Bond Phenomenon isn't vague and makes sense in general, like I said in a previous post, I just wish that we had gotten the full backstory of the power, like a special on the old ninja hero (instead of the XYZ special, which tbh, was kinda a wasted episode slot that could've gone to ANYTHING else that would've been more interesting). While we're on origins of "powers", why was it that ash's greninja specifically was able to do BP with ash? Same thing for blazeape and the pikashunium z (as of now), I mean, we know why they work, but we don't know what made greninja, infernape or pikachu so special they got a new form,an upgraded ability, or a new z-crystal.Nope special Blaze is nothing like regular Blaze. It literally gives Infernape a major stat boost in power (and not just fire attacks), speed and durability. If anything it could be argued to be a predecessor of the A-G form (for incomplete A-G, it also activated the form when in a pinch and would be cloaked in water like how Infernape would be momentarily cloaked in fire upon activating Blaze not to mention both are based on ‘bond power’). It was introduced as far back as Olympia and even before then there were signs that Froakie was different. Also nah it isn’t vague; here’s a full explanation of the A-G form: https://forums.serebii.net/threads/ash-greninja-bond-phenomenon-mechanics.663692/
it's sped up, but here it is:I believe Ash once threw a huge log all by himself.
Amusingly enough he wasn’t the able to lift a log in sm ep 9, so like with everything else about him, this show is inconsistent with Ash’s strength.it's sped up, but here it is:
some guy somehow managed to measure that its mass was 630kg, though then again, he used real physics and dex weights, so take it with a grain of salt
This scene was legit the first thing I thought of when I saw SM9 back in 2017 (and yet he was able to carry cosmoem and power climb through a cliff...)Amusingly enough he wasn’t the able to lift a log in sm ep 9, so like with everything else about him, this show is inconsistent with Ash’s strength.
To sum up human characters in the pokémon anime work on gag logic or real world physics as the writers see fit. This scene was legit the first thing I thought of when I saw SM9 back in 2017 (and yet he was able to carry cosmoem and power climb through a cliff...)
Not to mention literally nobody else is seen with this form during the entire duration of the series.

It's...a legend. I mean, the Greninja was the special one, not the trainer, which remained the case in present day. Who said they didn't know who the trainer was? It's irrelevant and pointless to the narrative. And ninjas aren't psychics anyway...My point is it's a bit unbelievable stealthy ninjas couldn't even locate the trainer of the special Greninja anywhere, but are absolutely certain there was one.
No, Ash got him as a Frokie, they got stronger together like most other Pokémon. They did lots of training to master it but it was already powerful before Ash ever considered mastering it,so having said that Ash isn't the reason why it's so powerful, all he did was help master it and prevent any fainting from reoccuring.
Sceptile and maybe Infernape (if you don't count it previously being with Paul) are the strongest pokemon he's trained so far as a trainer. His Charizard,Gliscor,Squirtle got strong through another source, his Snorlax was already powerful before being captured, his Greninja has "battle bond/bond phenomenon" but that is something that had nothing to do with Ash's training,in it's base form it's weaker than Charizard,Sceptile,Infernape,Snorlax and arguably Pikachu.
Why should it have destroyed him? After seeing those mega evolution specials I'd have to disagree with you on that one.
I already knew that,I was one of the few people that compared his Froakie to his Trecko. They got strong together but that has little to do with how stupidly powerful his Greninja becomes when Battle Bond activates. If Ash is the sole reason for "Ash-Greninja" being considered "elite four level" why isn't Ash himself classified as an elite four level trainer? It's because he didn't train it in the same capacity as the elite four members. The Battle Bond ability was already powerful before Ash started training to master it.No, Ash got him as a Frokie, they got stronger together like most other Pokémon.
Alain's Charizard defeated several mega evolution trainers in a row along with one of the elite four, the moment Alain was confirmed to be participating in the kalos league it was all over for Ash.Greninja is a water type, Charizard was a fire type, that's why.
The least I could accept was a tie.
???Don't give me the brock meme lol

XYZ was bound to three seasons.Ultra Instinct >>> Bond Phenomenon
Hell noSee, 1st of all, we all know the writers don't want him to be op, he is already op af, if he had consistent personality and actually used his all powerful Pokémon.
Have you seen Ash Greninja's stats? The attack stats are ridiculous. With that much attack and that giant water shuriken that also absorbed Charizards attack,no matter how powerful Charizard is, it should have obliterated him.
Ultra Instinct wasn't around for that long though,it wasn't mentioned until Ressurection F and then didn't get talked about again until the Tournament of Power.XYZ was bound to three seasons.
DB has God knows how many.
Unfair comparison.
Using game stats in anime to prove your point, faulty logic.Have you seen Ash Greninja's stats? The attack stats are ridiculous. With that much attack and that giant water shuriken that also absorbed Charizards attack, no matter how powerful Charizard is, it should have obliterated him.
