From my end, I see casual fans thinking Tobias proved a legitimate victory over Ash just because he had legendaries even though most people in Serebii think he's one of if not the most BS characters to ever be created.

In my opinion it has got to be Serena. Too much of her focus was on shipping and her crush. And it took her too long to get started on her goal. In my opinion.

I don't really see it. From my experience in the Adventures fanbase, there doesn't seem to be any love-hate relationship with the female characters on a similar level as say Sakura of the Naruto fanbase or Orihime of the Bleach fanbase. I have seen a couple of people say she's overrated but not in-general the fanbase or even a chunk of it. In fact if were talking about characters in-general, it just seems to be Red.

Just do it like the other specials where they are on an short adventure. For example, Dawn's special in the BW series? She can easily be replaced by any Pokegirl during that storyline. You guys forget that the anime's take on fanservice offers no real character progression with the exception of maybe Misty.

She's responsible too, especially since she had to deal with troublemaking twin little sisters as well, even though she had a hard time to discipline Sandy judging from the latest aired episode.
Well, that's not entirely her fault since the other recent companions/classmates had few amount of Pokemons either thanks to the anime producers/writers who forbid her to have Dewpider and gave her Sandy instead.
Not as much as Ash was during XY to me.

Lana feels like one of those characters the writers like and can think up plenty funny gags for, but have trouble fleshing out in particular. She's sort of an ensemble dark horse that'd likely work better as a savoured minor character than an actual protagonist.
I'd put her up one mark if she had an episode that gave more agency to her personality traits, I'm kinda hoping the upcoming Kyogre episode is all her trolling coming back to haunt her, even if it's just something as simple as a lying parable, just something to give a quirk of her's some sort of actual drive in a story.
Both Lana and Mallow suffer the issue of relying on external forces for material most of the time, not being very good at driving plots on their own, though a lot more people seem to be in agreement that Mallow is pretty bland. That said I do remember a lot of people being on similar field for Lana before the Akala arc, given she barely did anything after her first limelight episode up until then.

She's boring to me personally. We've seen her character in Sun and Moon. We know she's a prankster, who likes to fake out people with two misbehaving sisters. What else? All the other Sun and Moon characters either had layers added to their characters or was revamped. Lana stayed the same and it's just boring how the writers just copied and pasted.
That's because she's generally snarky with a mix of mischief, she has a cool and calm demeanor, and she's sarcastic and has some battle oriented aspect. As much as I like Mallow's design and her backstory with her mother, Mallow generally isn't that interesting on an episode to episode basis because she's a support character. Which is fine, but I wish Mallow could be more given she has the most popular design of the SM girls. And while we have Lillie her game storyline was generally handled better, and there's just too many large gaps where the writers sideline her and don't do much with her for awhile till her next ep. Lana is what we call the, "dark horse" of a saga, where she's the unexpected breakout character because most didn't expect much from her when the saga first began.
I won't be surprised if Lana gets a lot of focus in the league too, more than the other SM girls at any rate.
