What do YOU think are the most overused and underused Pokemon types? Overused: i'd say water or grass. Underused: dark, steel or ground. What about you?

Overused: Fire, Dark... probably Water as well.
Underused: Hmm, Bug? Rock? Hard to say...

Strawberry.

Strawberry fields.
Overused: Without doubt Water and Dragon. Water used to be my favorite type, but it's a rather polluted type as it is now.

Underused: Fighting, Bug and Poison. The Fighting type has become one of my favorite types recently.

I don't know about overused, but I seem more inclined to raise Grass Pokémon more than many people.

Over-used... maybe Fire (I manage all right without a Fire-type on Sapphire), and Water, Psychic and Electric too. But those are still some of my favourite types - there's a good reason why they're used so much...

Under-used... well, obviously Bug, and I don't see very many people use Ghost- or Normal-types, either.

I don't think dark and ground are underused, I know a lot of people that use dark or/and ground. Steel is a bit underused, but the most underused type is probably poison or bug. Most used type are grass, water, fire and electric, most people tend to have all those types in one team.

Water, Flying, Dark, and Electric are just a few overused types.

Fighting types are relatively underused despite their great strength, and Ice types, while having god STAB, have a bad defensive type - and most Waters get Ice Beam anyway.

Bug is generally underused too, as is Normal (well, the non-cutsey Normal types).

Overused- Most definetly flying we're practically forced to have one if we want to travel around the map quickly

Underused- poison with next to no type advantages and a generally poor move pool i rarely waste my time with poison types (exception to personal favourites like crobat)

Night Triumphant
Overused- Water, Dragon

Underused- Bug (I don't see why the hate for them, there are some good ones like Heracross, Scizor and Beequeen)

As underused i mean the creators of pokemon don't make too many of them....

Over used: Water,
I also hated there being 3 water HMs, you should only need Surf .The other two Are Awful
Underused: Bug, Poison and Fighting
There is also a Small amount of good Bug and Poison moves/TMs in the Third Gen. its a bit better in the fourth gen though.

Well, that convinced me. I will make an all-Normal team in the future. How does this sound: Eteboss, Clefable, Smeargle, Slaking, Beroberuto, Mimilop.

I'll bet a lot of people are turned off by the low-level Bug Pokémon you find towards the beginning of the game. I have no problem using Bug Pokémon though, and I find Ninjask and Heracross on a lot of teams. Venomoth is pretty cool too, and it embpdies both Bug AND Poison.
