Most well-told story of a Pokemon?

shoz999

Back when Tigers used to smoke.
This is where you discuss what you think is the most well-told story of a Pokemon. I'll kick things off what I think is the most well-told story of a Pokemon.

Ash's Infernape is arguably Ash's most interesting Pokemon, starting out as Paul's main fire-type but because it didn't perform well in Paul's eyes, Paul just abandoned him, shaking Chimchar to the core. Seeing a trainer abandon his Pokemon like that to the wild, his Pokemon begging to stay is like seeing a human being abandoning his pet penguin in the wild forests that's full of who knows what, a penguin that is not only so used to the city surroundings but being around his pet owner. Imagine that kind of feeling for Chimchar begging to stay on-board only to be rejected once more. It's when Ash offers a hand to Chimchar to join his team that Chimchar shows curiosity. We see a chimp smiling because he realizes Ash not only sees a strong Pokemon in him but he's also curious because Ash is offering something else to Chimchar, something he never really experienced with Paul, friendship.

It's from there that Chimchar tries to get used to his new circumstances. Chimchar is a bit unsure of the merry gathering of trainers and Pokemons welcoming him as the new member of their party. This new environment sends a sort of culture shock to Chimchar. One of the most emotional heartfelt scenes in the Pokemon series is when Chimchar embraces Ash for the very first time. This wasn't like Chimchar smiling and accepting Ash's invitation. He accepted Ash's invitation mostly because Ash thought he was useful but it is here, Chimchar is crying over Ash's shoulder that we see his tears over the pressure of Paul's training that lead to his release and also truly embracing Ash's extension to be his friend.

Eventually Ash and Paul cross paths again and again. Chimchar's progression as a character and Ash and Paul's rivalry are almost intangible. Whenever Paul shows up, Chimchar is scared at first but over time he grew wanting to show how he took pride in the strength he gained by being at Ash's side, evolving into Monferno and utilizing his Blaze ability. It wasn't until as Infernape that that he showed Paul what he was made of to the very end, not only snagging victory but was ultimately the driving force that changed who Paul would become as a Pokemon trainer. I do sincerely believe...

We are so back Zygardebros
Definitely Chimchar’s and it’s a shame the games didn’t have such an impactful storyline until SM

Armored Legend
The story of Grovyle from PMD2 is the most well-told, as well as compelling. A Pokémon during a certain time period with his trusted human companion is born into a world where time is perpetually frozen. He and his friend eventually learn that this paralysis of the world is caused by Primal Dialga, a being who has become corrupted by the collapse of Temporal Tower. His rule is absolute in the world, and he is far too powerful to be defeated. The two become determined to find a way to travel back in time to recover the time gears of the tower, as that is their only hope of ever preventing the paralysis from happening.

When Grovyle travels back in time, he loses contact with his friend. The sole person he has trusted all his life is suddenly gone. Grovyle is swarmed by unsettling thoughts, such as the fate of his friend and the unknown world that he has ended up on. All he had ever known was darkness, until at some point he witnesses the sunrise for the first time. It absolutely stuns him. This is truly the beauty of the world. This is how it is meant to be. He must move on and gather the time gears to save the tower, or else this beauty will be lost forever. With his resolve significantly strengthened, he heads to the settings containing the time gears.

At some point, news reports in the world state that time gears have been stolen in certain places, leaving them frozen in time. There is no doubt that Grovyle has encountered various opponents trying to arrest him, but he is prepared to fight. This is for the future of your world, he would think as he knocks them down. But then during one incident, he suddenly sees Dusknoir, the Pokémon he has known in the future as an agent of Primal Dialga. Despite his shock in seeing Dusknoir, he attempts to defeat him but is trapped and captured in the process. He is wrapped up and stripped of the time gears that he had so effortfully retrieved.

He is brought to Treasure Town, where Pokémon, including the hero and partner, are cheering at his capture. Dusknoir proclaims that there will finally be peace in the world. No! It’s a trick!, Grovyle tries to shout, but his mouth is completely tied. Pushed into the dimensional hole, he is faced with distraught in that his efforts up until that point have been wasted.

In the future, he teams up with the hero and partner as he saves them from the Sableye. He is disappointed in their initial distrust of him, but the two eventually realize the truth. Grovyle feels relieved in a way, finally gaining allies for his goal. When they reach the Passage of Time, they struggle under the power of Dusknoir and Primal Dialga. Grovyle is brought to despair as he learns that his human friend is actually the hero beside him, turned into a Pokémon who has forgotten about their goal to save the world and apparently doomed to die alongside him. However, with Celebi’s help, they manage to escape and return back in time. After seeing another sunrise, the three are fully determined to get the time gears again and tell the truth to all the Pokémon.

At the Hidden Land, they face Dusknoir and the Sableye. Grovyle is determined to bring Dusknoir down once and for all, and they fight. Although Dusknoir seems defeated, he pulls a sudden attack on the hero. Grovyle lungs in to protect his human friend from another. Roaring furiously, he gets up and grabs Dusknoir’s arms tightly. He tells the hero and partner that they must continue on without him in order to put the time gears in the tower. He reminisces about his time in this current world, and that despite not being able to see it again, he knows in his heart that it will ultimately be prevented from paralysis. Placing his complete trust in the two, he enters the dimensional hole with Dusknoir, never to be seen again... until the special episode.

Grovyle and Dusknoir return to the future of darkness. Grovyle distrusts Dusknoir, but they end up traveling together to fight off the crazed Pokémon. Dusknoir reveals his feelings to Grovyle throughout this time, such as his fears of disppearing from the world and his uncertainties in working with Primal Dialga. Grovyle adamantly tries to appease him, sharing his resolve to fight for a better future. It takes some time, but after a series of events, they finally end up working together with Celebi joining them. They head to Vast Ice Mountain to face Primal Dialga themselves as they are seeing the world gradually brighten.

Finally, the future is fully restored by the actions of the hero and partner, and the light begins to emanate from the four. Grovyle holds Celebi in his arms, with the light shining from them as he anticipates their disappearance. But wait! By Arceus Almighty! They survived, along with Dusknoir, Dialga, and the rest of the Pokémon of the future. Grovyle, looking off of the mountain with the sun shining in the sky, thinks of a message to his friend. I am still alive. We are still alive.

So yeah. Grovyle’s is the best story. Fight me. :p

(Edited for grammar and spelling and such. Also, friggin’ autocorrect.)

The Anime/Special's canon know it all.
1) Satosh's gekkouga origin is my favorite part of the Pokemon anime show lore .

2) His Goukazaru story is best too

But nothing could definitely beat bye-bye Butterfree episode as it great love for human and Pokemon relationship and it is pretty funny ..it was caused whole thing about Satoshi let go of his best Pokemon stuff.

Call of Fate
Although I've never liked the concept of Ash-Greninja, I actually quite liked Greninja's story in the anime. Too bad Goodra and Noivern were shafted in terms of victories because of it.
