Back when Tigers used to smoke.
This is where you discuss what you think is the most well-told story of a Pokemon. I'll kick things off what I think is the most well-told story of a Pokemon.
Ash's Infernape is arguably Ash's most interesting Pokemon, starting out as Paul's main fire-type but because it didn't perform well in Paul's eyes, Paul just abandoned him, shaking Chimchar to the core. Seeing a trainer abandon his Pokemon like that to the wild, his Pokemon begging to stay is like seeing a human being abandoning his pet penguin in the wild forests that's full of who knows what, a penguin that is not only so used to the city surroundings but being around his pet owner. Imagine that kind of feeling for Chimchar begging to stay on-board only to be rejected once more. It's when Ash offers a hand to Chimchar to join his team that Chimchar shows curiosity. We see a chimp smiling because he realizes Ash not only sees a strong Pokemon in him but he's also curious because Ash is offering something else to Chimchar, something he never really experienced with Paul, friendship.
It's from there that Chimchar tries to get used to his new circumstances. Chimchar is a bit unsure of the merry gathering of trainers and Pokemons welcoming him as the new member of their party. This new environment sends a sort of culture shock to Chimchar. One of the most emotional heartfelt scenes in the Pokemon series is when Chimchar embraces Ash for the very first time. This wasn't like Chimchar smiling and accepting Ash's invitation. He accepted Ash's invitation mostly because Ash thought he was useful but it is here, Chimchar is crying over Ash's shoulder that we see his tears over the pressure of Paul's training that lead to his release and also truly embracing Ash's extension to be his friend.
Eventually Ash and Paul cross paths again and again. Chimchar's progression as a character and Ash and Paul's rivalry are almost intangible. Whenever Paul shows up, Chimchar is scared at first but over time he grew wanting to show how he took pride in the strength he gained by being at Ash's side, evolving into Monferno and utilizing his Blaze ability. It wasn't until as Infernape that that he showed Paul what he was made of to the very end, not only snagging victory but was ultimately the driving force that changed who Paul would become as a Pokemon trainer. I do sincerely believe...
...that the most well-told story of a Pokemon is Feefee the Feebas. EVERYONE GIVE AN APPLAUSE TO FEEFEE THE FEEBAS FOR THE MOST WELL-TOLD STORY OF A POKEMON IN POKEMON HISTORY! You truly had one of the most beautiful and emotionally-driven stories a Pokemon fan has ever seen!
