Move Strength

Cain Nightroad

Daydreaming
Has anyone noticed how the power of the moves in the anime is varied from the power of them in the games?

Take Seismic Toss for example. When Charizard used it against Magmar, it seemed like an attack fit for battling anything. In the games, however, the seismic toss attack is very weak.

Thean look at Fire Blast. In the anime, it is regarded as the most powerful fire attack yet. In the games though, Flamethrower can match Fire Blast's power.

Has anyone noticed this?

Ninetales used Fire Blast! The attack missed!
Ninetales used Fire Blast! The Attack Missed!
Ninetales used Fire Blast! The Attack Missed!
Ninetales used Fire Blast! The Attack Missed!
Ninetales used Fire Blast! The Attack Missed!
There's no PP for that move!

Ninetales used Flamethrower! Critical Hit!
Ninetales used Flamethrower!
Ninetales used Flamethrower!
Foe ________ Fainted!

In the anime, Fire Blast is a godly move that has the same accuracy as Flamethrower, with infinite PP (since everything in the anime has infinite PP). However, in the game, it's a semi-powerful move with pathetic accuracy. you could KO something in the games with Flamethrower often before you could even get Fire Blast off the ground.

Anime: Fire Blast pwns everything with no downside. Flamethrower pales.
Game: Fire Blast's is repeatedly showed up by Flamethrower.

He's still right, and you sir, fail.
And yes. I have had five f*cking Fire Blasts miss in a row.

5 FB missing in a row. Must have had some Bad Luck...

Not to mention Focus punch doesn't need a turn of concentration.

My games tend to hate me. D:
There's also things like Spearow learning HM Fly.
*imagines anime character crushing Spearow under their fat arse*

...nice.

This is also the same anime that
Pikachu defeated Regice only to be defeated by Elekible.
