MPH 'Snaking' has emerged

When I say snaking, I am refering to people who think it is cheap because they don't know how to do it, or don't want to, ect. Well anyways a new complaint issue (it is common on Nsider, still has yet to make its way here) known as 'Alt-form abuse.' Basiccally people are complaining how good hunters are in morph ball. This is illogical, because the alt-form is really what seperates the hunters apart because the HAVE to start out with power beam. So indeed, but remember it is a game mechanic, and part of the game, thus isn't cheap

Why bother posting this here if complaints on the matter have never aroused? It seems like you're just giving people a reason to complain in the future. XD

I'm guessing people like me who like using Trace in alt form and turn invisible are to blame for this -_-

There are a reasons, just forgot to mention it.

1.)
In MKDS I (maybe only me) almost always get a quitter when I snake constantly or there is a rainbow road counterstrike. So I am saying someone who deals with there alt-form alot could be getting quitters.

2.)
Right now most of the people are dealing with adventure mode. (Wi-Fi usually is average when the game is released, highest after approximate beating time, this includes how often people can play) and the lowest after MPH is getting old. (ACWW is proving that Wi-Fi games can last a long time). And they may not even have the game. If you go the Friend Finder only 9 people on these forums have the game. On Nsider about 60 of them have it. So the reason it isn't an issue right now is because Wi-Fi hasn't reached its most active state. It will reach here one way or another, just a heads up about it.

And finally
3.)
This game is supposed to be a FPS, but when you are in Alt-form it isn't a FPS for that time. So people may feel cheated because they don't understand it is part of the game. Then it leads to #1.

Also another problem is that Nintendo with there 'Defualt power beam' made it worse, because Alt-form is often a starter, so people may stick to it if it is effective while searching for weapons.

I agree that quitters can be annoying, but alternate forms will not be the cause of this, or should not at least. All of the characters are balanced pretty evenly, and this goes the same for the alternate forms for each character. Just as with snaking, it's easy to develop a strategy to beat it/them.

Well I'be encountered 2 quitters on me already. I guess it's because I like using Trace and Weavel in their Alt forms. The reason I do this is because I can't seem to aim properly when shooting. :p

Plus, I like speed so yeah. Zora you faced me, I did nothing but stay in my alt. Heh, I even lost too.

But really, I don't see why people should quit. I mean every Hunter is able to kill the alt if they know exactly what to do. I've just gotta find out how to kill sylux.

I suck as Trace so I can't be called cheap for his alt. form.. As you know, Zora.

With Spire when all I'm trying to do is get my win ratio up I choose Data Shrine. Most people, unless they are Noxus or Kanden can't find a way to get me in those tunnels.. Because they nkow entering only results in me pressing 'l' and killing them. Weavel is the worse case for this. All I need to do is KO an opponent once there and hide.. Or circle around the level.

THIS IS CHEAP. I hate the alt. forms. It kinda ruins the game... But I will contiue to use them.

I have same views of alt-forms as snaking, so I think it is fair. Anyways everyone has a counter:
(Note Noxus Judicator followed by a sniper is the best way, freeze then snipe)

Kanden: Falls at freeze-snipe

Noxus: Weavel Halfturrent is the best

(Note Noxus and Weavel go hand to hand)

Weavel: Week to trace since trace will see it, turrent doesn't, swipe fall against freeze-snipe.

Spire: Sniping because climbing takes forever, otherwise use freeze-snipe

Sylux: He is hardest to beat, so Freeze-snipe is your best bet

Trace: Trace can hide so what do you do? Use his weapon, freeze-snipe. Judicator is the best anti-trace weapon, and that what we need to freeze him.

Samus: Freeze-Snipe

Just like MKDS, stratagy is used to counter it. Rainbow Road is an imfamous anti-snake course. Notice how Noxus is good with his Freeze-Snipe combo. Then Weavel is needed to counter him. This is the problem, Noxus and Weavel are some of the hardest hunters to use. Plus you get them near better hunters. Basiccally people need to put more thought in Alt-forms, but this IS MKDS all over again-with weapons

well the alt-form is something that can be mastered pretty easily, unlike Snaking in Mario Kart, so it shouldnt be that unfair

No, you need to know tactics, Kandan, Spire and Samus are an exception. Noxus has a unique claw which is easy to mater. Sylux and Trace require the most effort to learn.

Well that's bad news for me, because Trace is definitely my favorite character. I hope people don't refuse my challenges just because I use him 0_o. Oh well, there's always Spire if Trace drives people away.

It's kind of a stupid complaint, but I suppose I'll think differently when I actually go OnLine and experience the blatant horror of Snaking

I am the king of Kanden's morph mode....So if you have a problem with it people, who cares? Its part of the game. A GOOD part of the game that helps me win. Deal with it. It isn't cheating like Zora said. Oh and Grammar? No cursing please....

There's your problem. Weavel is weak to Sylux. Sylux's Shock coil heals him and drains enemies health. Only when Sylux is using it though. Half of Weavels alt form stays still shooting. Those shoots will do nothing to a shock coil armed Sylux who will destroy the turret and then delievering a single shoot to weavel and defeat him. Avoiding the Shock coil? Only one thing, run away in alt form. It can't lock onto you.

Yes, Alt form abusing is something pretty hated on GameFAQs. I use it only when collecting weapons and health, when other people use it or in danger. But can be countered going into alt mode yourself....not a problem for me. I just don't like people who disconnect, which doesn't happened much compared to Mario Kart. (I admit, alot of young people go on it.) But sometimes it's not on purpose.

Meanwhile, I happen to be a Sylux user myself. The Imperalist, Shock coil, Missiles and the Battle Hammer are your friends with him.

I'm personally more worried about Sylux Shock Coil abuse than altform abuse. >_>;

Hah, I finally found a cool technique to make Sylux fly around in the air in the Headshot map. Now I never lose that map. I've encountered so many disconnectors whenever I'm winning their now and I must agree it's annoying. But really, this isn't going to stop me from not using alt forms.

Okay, something really cheap that online people do is pick either Spire or Trace and hide in a small crack in the wall on Alinos Gateway. It's pretty easy to pick people off with the Imperialist from up there and really difficult to hit the snipers with missles. The small sniping spot is also easy to defend. Watch out for people who do this all the time! It gets really annoying!

When I was doing WiFi, Rainbow Road seemed to be the one where everyone was really glitchy and warping around everywhere.

"Snaking" is a natural part of MKDS and this alt. form abuse is not considered snaking.
You need to learn how to play and not accuse people of playing unfair if they take advantge of using thier alt. form.

Thats all i have to say.

Snaking: Someone wrote into Nintendo Power magazine about this. According to NP, the technique was not something that was delibrately put into the game, but it's okay to use. However, they mentioned that it can really discourage people (anyone who doesn't know how to snake cannot win), and that using it was a rather nasty thing to do. I tend to agree with this.

Alt Forms: Alt forms, on the other hand, are definitely not overpowered. I've fought those Spires, Noxuses, and Traces that run around in alt form trying to use their uber powerful physical attacks. It's pretty easy to get around. As I use Samus, I can simply use morph ball bombs while running away from the alt form. They run straight into them, generally. However, it's really just as easy just to jump around and avoid them, while firing missile after missile into them.
