I doubt it. One save file forces more copies to be bought. For instance, a parent might have to buy 2 or more copies of Pokemon, 1 for each of their kids. Multiple copies = more money for Nintendo.

Besides, I think 1 save per game is good in a way. If a game could have 2 or more saves, the people on the same game cart could not trade or battle each other.

No I dont think they should have multiole files

Ever since the first Pokemon games were released, I've been wondering why they haven't allowed more than one save file. And the answer is blatantly obvious-

It would allow the capture of all the Pokemon far too easily.

I mean, even with only two game catridges and two save files per cartridge, one could easily capture the three Legendary Dogs on FR/LG, obtain the 3 Johto starters from Emerald, etc etc.

Not only that, but as AkariKanzaki said, it rakes in more money for them. After all, they ARE a business, and the whole point of a business is to make money.

Yeah, ok!
The GBA titles only had one file because the data of the game took up almost all of the data on the game.

Don't know about DS cards

I've always wanted that but unfortuately it isn't happening for the following reason. Pokemon involves trading amoung others and buying each version, therefore losing sales by having multiple files.

No. It's unlikely to be multiple save files. Even if you're unable to trade between them. Pokémon's always been a personalized adventure, and adding more than the needed file would be overkill and wouldn't promote the "individuality" of the main quest. =/

Yeah, but it is a royal pain to have to trade everything to another version in order to start a new file.

The only reason why I would want multiple files so stupid assholes will quit deleting my games..

That is all

Back when the first games came out. I had two brothers and one sister. It was impossible to keep stuff to yourself.

I kinda wish this would be true. Sometimes I want to keep starting over for shiny starters but I want to move on at the same time. So if I had one game for getting the shiny starters and one for progressing into my game, it would be good. But unfortunately, knowing Nintendo, they would forsee this and think of it as a cheat.
And it would sort of break a tradition. If you could say options for files would count as a tradition.

I withdraw reluctantly.
No. It's takes away from memory, and I think the game should be a personal file.

Ah, but think about this. To have two save files means to take up a huge amount of the memory of the game card. Do you want two save files, or a bigger game?

I hope they could but it probably wont have enough space, but if it could I could have different parties, which could be pretty cool. ^_^

I am 100% sure that will never happen it would just make it so easy to get rare pokemon. I think it is good the way it is now.

Im sure we would all love it, but the people like to make as much money as they can, and only one save file leaves some people buying another pokemon game for another file because they do not want to start a new one. Also the memory, less space on DP, alot, which would cause the space for more awesome features to be lost.

multiple files, but only two or three. think if you start over 50 times. so you will play the one you have first you dont know where you have it.
