Tis the Hour to Reload
Aaaand I'm just gonna plop this WIP here cause I wanna let you know I'm making progress. Edit: Done! Edit2: Added the "magic slots".

Inspiration(s): Loki (mainly Marvel Cinematic Universe with a little Earth 616) and Superman (Clark Kent)

Super Name: Trickster

Civilian Name, or Secret Identity: Loki Laufeyson (birth name), Loki Odinson (Asgardian name), Locke Kent (legal/Earth name)

Gender: Male

Age: 25

Powers, Gadgets, and Skills:
Frost Giant/Jotun Biology: As a member of the alien race known as Jotuns, or Frost Giants, even if he is a dwarf in comparison to their normal height, Locke has all the traits that are normal of a Jotun. He has super human strength and durability, easily able to lift a couple of trucks, and able to take most bullets, usually of the smaller calibers. Because of his strength, he can also run much faster than even the fastest human, but he can't outrun most sports cars. Because of his lineage, he is very, very resistant, if not outright immune, to the cold. However, because of this, he is more susceptible to very high temperatures, though thankfully he can comfortably withstand the average of Earth's temperatures. Because he's essentially an alien that grew up on Earth, he rarely gets sick or poisoned, and he heals quicker than humans with most injuries, particularly minor ones. He also has a longer lifespan than most normal humans. Another thing about Jotun biology is that it lets him able to use magic, most commonly the power to control ice. Whether it's because of his size or whoever his birth mother was, he is naturally more capable of using magic than most of his species, and thus most of his powers involve magic. However, because of the energy and concentration it takes to maintain his level of magic, he can only, for lack of a better word, use two types of magic at a time. All of which are listed below.

Glamour: His glamour is his body's natural "camouflage", which is what makes him look like a normal human. It changes on instinct to match the people around him but he can control it at will (making it easy to change his hair, eye and skin color) as well as dispel it, but he usually prefers to keep it on, partially out of habit, partially because of where he usually lives and partially because he does like how he looks. His glamour doesn't affect any clothes or accessories he wears.

Illusionary magic: His actual illusionary magic, it lets him create illusions of all sorts, whether on himself, the environment or outright making phantasms, and often very realistically. But these things have no solid mass to them and can be waded through like a reflection in water. When used on himself, he it can make him actually look different, like a different person, different clothes or something else entirely. When on the environment can change it to look completely different up to 11 meters around him. Usually the only way to tell the object (or person, building, etc) is fake is if the thing it's disguising isn't even close in shape or if it doesn't smell or feel the same. He usually uses this in battle to change the environment or make many "doubles" of himself to thus throw off the opponent. In everyday life, he usually uses it to prank friends and to help in his schemes to humiliate people who deserve it.

Shapeshifting: Locke is able to shapeshift into various animal forms (much to his disappointment; he wished he could turn into inanimate objects to prank people). He is able to change into animals as big as some dinosaurs and as small as most insects, usually preferring to take the form of crows, snakes and wolves. Unlike some shapeshifting, whatever clothes and accessories he wears usually get "absorbed", disappearing from his body for most of the forms he takes (usually the non-humanoid ones) and then returned to "normal" when back in his default Jotun form, glamoured or not. He can still use all of his magic even when in his animal form and is just as durable and strong as he is as a Jotun because of it. On the downside it mean this is usually how anyone magic senstive can tell if it's him or just a regular animal. In theory he could turn into other aliens or monsters entirely, but he hasn't tested that out and he hasn't met anyone of those who're friendly enough for him to observe and then "copy". Shapeshifting into the fastest animals on land, air or sea is usually how he gets around quickly.

Cryokinesis: One of the main traits of a Jotun, and the last of his magic spells, Locke is able to create ice and control that ice, though the ice he makes works less like ice and more like crystals, being very durable but is still very cold. He can form his ice into shapes, including weapons, objects and sculptures or just blast it like a laser/projectile. This is how he arms himself in battle, typically using daggers or a spear. He usually forms it from his hands but they can appear from any part of his body and make it disappear again so long as he touches. He cannot control any ice formed naturally or by other people nor make it disappear. And he can only make anything as large as 9 meters wide and tall, unless he is supplied by an external magic source. So unfortunately not very tall ice buildings for him. He cans still make it snow with his ice powers though. It's quite handy when he wants a white Christmas.

High Intelligence: As expected of a trickster, Locke is a very smart and well read individual, having read a variety of subjects and stories, though his favorites, and thus the ones he's most knowledgeable of, are mythology and psychology.

Tactician: Also as a consequence of his intelligence, when in a fight, Locke prefers and is good at tactics, the small strategies that change on the fly when in an actual combat be it one-on-one or more. He observes his enemies and constantly make assessments on how to best them with his skills, powers, any allies and the environment.

Silver Tongue: As a lover of story, Locke is naturally adept at speaking with others, whether diplomatically or charismatically, even if all he wants to do is freeze them into a popsicle. And even if he can't convince the other person with words in a negotiation, he can usually at least talk his way out of an unfavorable situation. Usually. He's still Loki after all, he will end up getting himself in trouble with his words as much as he gets out of it with it, and there are plenty of beings who won't talk at all.

Combat Training and Experience: Though not quite as skilled as actual martial artists or having the amount of experience most veteran warriors have, Locke has trained in combat with Thor and several instructors in the art of dagger and staff combat in Asgard. He has also fought plenty of times before, his instincts and reflexes accustomed to reacting to danger.

Summoning Bracelet: A gift from Frigga that allows his to summon her other gift, his supersuit that she had crafted just for him. It a simple looking gold bracelet with runes on it. Locke only needs to channel magic energy into it to make it summon his suit from his room.

Enchanted Suit: The supersuit that Frigga gifted to him, including the boots. Though it looks like leather and thus relatively light weight and allows a wide range of movement, it is enchanted to have durability much higher than bulletproof vests, actually making it quite a bit stronger than steel. It is still flexible though so it won't really stop any snapping of limbs or body parts.

Tricky Trenchcoat: A part of the supersuit that Frigga gave Locke, it is just as durable as the rest of the suit, but its main feature is the it has eight pockets, two outside and six inside, that are basically small pocket dimensions. However, to Locke's slight disappointement, he can't just put anything in them. The object still has to fit the diameter of the pocket, so that means he could store things like poles and such but not stuff in a shield, and he can only put one item in each pocket that is too big to fit inside a normal pocket. So he's able to store multiple things that are smaller than the a regular pocket size but anything bigger than that, that's the only thing he can put in his pocket.

Appearance: Locke is what most would consider an attractive man and he knows it. Standing at a relatively tall at six feet and one inch, his physique is lean and toned from years of training. His skin is a bit on the pale side and definitely smooth, making most women, and some men, jealous while his face is a bit androgynous, with his smooth forehead smooth and small nose a bit of a contrast with his narrow eyes, thin lips and his angular cheeks and chin. His hair is black, wavy and just as smooth as his skin, Locke taking much care about it. It'a about medium length, reaching a bit past his shoulders, long enough that he can put it in a ponytail should he wish it. How he holds himself depends on the situation, but whether he's standing confident and poised or relaxed and warm, he's always walking almost as if he's strutting on a walkway, showing off his looks for all to see. It's completely unintentional, most of the time.

Locke is a man who is conscious of what he wears because, as much as a kind and friendly person as he is, he likes expressing himself in his clothes, whether he wants to look good and flaunt his looks or let his interests be known. And he knows that, despite what plenty of people saying that looks don't matter, he does know they make quite a bit of a person's first impression. So he has several common "sets" of outfits that others will likely see him as, depending on the setting and what image he wants to achieve, if wants to achieve anything. Yes, he could very well just illusion himself a lot of these, but he likes having actual clothes.

When he's at work, he puts on more casual and homey clothes that are still at least somewhat professional in order to give a more friendly impression, knowing some of his clients are likely to be at least a little apprehensive talking with a professional counsellor. So he wears a simple emerald dress shirt, blue jeans and leather dress shoes, with a simple nondescript wristwatch to keep track of his sessions. He also puts on fake glasses because, as he puts it, "It completes the look."

When he's out of work and with friends, though the main factor that dictates it is what kind of place he's going, he flip-flops between a sleek and suave suit or casual and geeky merch clothes. For his more formal settings like restaurants and such, it's often a green suit jacket, black dress shirt and brown pants and the same leather dress shoes he wears at work. For his less so like cafés or conventions, it's a shirt that is merch of whatever he feels like wearing that is one of his favorite things (the most common ones though are one with the eyes and smile of the Cheshire Cat and one with Lupin the III in a dynamic pose), brown khaki shorts and green sandals, as well as wearing the same fake glasses he wears while at work. If he can choose between either, he'll either pick whatever he feels like wearing at the time...or he'll pick the most surprising thing just for fun.

And lastly, at home, his attire usually is the simplest, consisting of just shirts and shorts, usually of greens and blacks, partially because it's practical (after all, what's the point of putting on a show without an audience?) but mostly because this is where he can truly relax. Sometimes he does wear his merch shirts, but most of the time it's just a simple T-shirt of one color. He's also bare foot at home, considering he rarely, if ever, gets cold.

The only thing that is constant is the gold bracelet that can summon his suit, which he usually keeps hidden with illusions unless he's at home.

When acting as the Trickster, Locke drops his glamour entirely and appears as his true Jotun form, as well as wearing his supersuit, which is simple yet stlyish. His supersuit consists of a leather-like shirt and pants, both of which are cobalt, and an emerald trenchcoat with gold linings and edges. On his arms and shins are black vambraces and shinguards, also seemingly looking like leather, seamlessly blending with his black boots. Before, his supersuit was really just an illusion he cast on himself after he taking off his clothes save his underwear, and even simpler in appearance than this. But since having reunited with his family on Asgard, his supersuit is genuine and actually protects him, having been enchanted to be at least quite a bit stronger than steel.

Personality: Locke is, at his core, a trickster, and a very intelligent one at that. He likes having fun with jokes and schemes, always wanting to be the source of jokes in a group. He absolutely loves stories, consuming most, if not all, media he can come across, including things from video games to radio, and loves to learn, reading on many varied subjects. Coupled with his intelligence, he is a more practical kind of person and he who knows that people can be both smarter and dumber than one might expect. As such, in public, he has a couple of fronts he puts on to throw off all but the most persistent and observant from his identity as Trickster. However, having been raised by the Kents and growing up in Smallville, fronts though most of his public personas may be, they still have the underlying core of his trickster nature and the values he's come to take to heart as the Kents' son, to help those in need, be kind to others and to have the courage to the right thing.

In public and among strangers, Locke plays the friendly and passionate yet shy and quiet geek, smiling at most people he meets who don't come off as scary and acting a bit unsure and timid around those who do. He'll get excited whenever someone else he meets shares the same interests as him and he'll talk rather animatedly, which is more often than not genuine. He'll also be timid in situations in general, in part from playing up the "shy persona" and in part from being calculatingly cautious. He will, however, always try to find a way to help within this persona, whether secretly through his Trickster persona, or outright as himself without revealing too much, for even something as simple as the clichéd cat stuck in the tree. And he will still have his wit, making sarsactic observations and jokes, but like this it's more in the tone of "innocently insensitive/genuinely concerned" and bad jokes and puns, making his humor come off more light-hearted and unintentional.

He is much more confident and professional when he's at work, taking his job very seriously. He does his best to come off as easy-going as possible without coming off as "suspect" for the sake of his clients. He won't mention anything of himself unless it is necessary or helpful for his client. And he's always reading more about his field to get better at his job, knowing very well how important it is. True, it can get tiring at times alongside his "other job", but he finds this job very fulfilling. However, in both cases, despite his more goofy exterior and how genuine he is about it, he also still has his instincts and intelligence on guard for any accidents and such that could happen nearby so that he can react to it and whatever situation he was previously in appropriately.

As Trickster, he plays up to his name very much and he quite enjoys the chance to be a bit more loose with his trickery and antics while being a hero. He plays the role of gentleman thief, kind and ever courteous to all, whether it be civilians, fellow heroes or villains and criminals, but with a penchant for pranks and the eloquence to banter, speaking as a gentleman should. Though his manners words are often more mocking and sharp against the latter two, especially with the particularly villainous ones. It's always fun seeing them explode from his words as well as getting a good dig on them. But being the person he is, should the villain show obvious and genuine remorse at any point, as long as that person works for forgiveness, than he's willing to give them a chance. However, go back on that chance, or piss him off in general whether that be as Trickster or Locke, but especially as Trickster, he won't hold back, his rage akin to a howling blizzard.

When he is with friends and family, where he's a bit of Trickster and a bit of his public personas. A confident and cheeky geek who loves tricks, jokes and stories with a passion for his loved ones, always wanting the very best for them, and a warm heart, always wanting to do the right thing.

History: Locke's story starts when he was born to Laufey, the King of Jotunheim, as a mere runt by his birth name, Loki Laufeyson. With the Jotuns preference for strength, the king abandoned his son and thus the little Jotun was found by Odin, King of Asgard. He took the baby with him once he was done with the ice realm, supposedly in hopes of one day bridging the gap between the two nations but it could also very well be just old war habits dying hard. His wife, Frigga, easily accepted him as a son as if he was her own flesh and blood, the defenseless baby flaring her maternal instincts. Even more so when she sensed his potential for magic, especially since he was already naturally disguising himself to match their skin. She knew he would need help with that when he grew.

But then one day while attending to both Loki and Thor who were playing with each other as toddlers do, Frigga had a vision...a vision of a possible future for Loki, one filled with pain, madness and, most of all, loneliness. It pained Frigga to see her son walk on this path of self destruction and she wished to prevent it...even if it meant she wouldn't be able to raise her son herself. After managing to convince Odin of her plan (which was rather difficult, mind you, as he was a stubborn old man who believed he wouldn't make the same mistakes that would lead to the possible future now that he knew), Frigga sealed Loki in a indescript vessel with several of his personal effects. After using her magic so that only a family worthy enough to raise her son could unseal it, she sent it to Earth, letting the Norns decide where he may land, for she had already interfered with the string of fate as it was.

And thus, many, many, many Earth years later, in a field near Smallville, Kansas, a married couple found a strange vessel buried in their fields, with strange symbols all over it. While they examined it, the vessel opened to reveal a sleeping little boy whose blue skin and red eyes turned into beige and blue when they touched him. Not able to have children of their own, they decided to take the boy and make sure to move the vessel closer to their home to keep an eye on it.

So began Loki's life as Locke Kent, son of Jonathan and Martha Kent. And of course, Locke's life wasn't completely normal.

He was at first bullied for his skinny appearance and his preferences for things liked by "nerds", but when he showed that he was more than a match for any of the very young jocks in elementary, the bullying stopped, but he was never really close to anyone in school, save for two fellow outcasts, half-Filipino Peter Roxas (pronounced RO-has), a video game geek, and Chinese descended Lisa Yang, an aspiring artist. Thus he spent a lot of time just reading, having fun with his friends and spending time with his parents on his farm.

And of course, being the clever boy he was, he noticed the odd things about himself, like how he never felt cold, could lift way more than he should, and how stuff he sometimes looked different if he didn't want anyone to see it. The tipping point was when he fell from losing his footing on a class field trip in the mountains and transformed to a bird. Having read stories of heroes, both fictional and not, he just asked his parents straight out:

"Am I not human?"

And so Locke learned of how they found him as well as had their love for him reaffirmed while his wonder spark to life, now having a mystery to solve and powers he needed to master that could keep others safe, he studied even harder at school and spent as much of his free time discovering and practicing his powers, with his friends with him and at a safe distance. During this time, he did a few heroics here and there, though he didn't do it "full time" as he knew he was still too young for that, and he found that the strange writing on his favorite green blanket was Norse runes, translating as "Loki Odinson", which further fueled his want to solve the mystery that is his origins if he was somehow related to a god.

Then, when he was fourteen, something crashed nearby the Kent farm and he found out it was his Norse brother, Thor Odinson. At first he was excited, but when Thor explained he had been banished and he acted rather selfishly as he demanded he help him get his hammer back, he wasn't anymore and ended up butting heads with the man who was offended a child would treat him that way. Locke revealed his heritage in rage but understandably Thor didn't believe him until he showed his vessel and the items from it. All that did was convince Thor that Locke should help him since they're family.

Frustrated but not wanting his "brother" to cause any damage to his home and hometown, he helped him find the hammer, which was luckily not too far from Smallville. But when they got there and used the cover of night, Thor couldn't lift the hammer...but Locke could. That devastated the warrior and Locke couldn't help but be empathetic and let him stay back at his home. Which Thor did, with Locke bringing the hammer with them as he was confident that Thor would one day be worthy to lift it again.

Since then, Locke had gotten close to Thor, who he had go by the name Torrin Blake and introduce himself as his "long lost brother" to everyone that wasn't his family and friends, as he taught him about Earth and humility and Thor trained in combat with him and told him more about Asgard and his parents. That just made him want to meet them all the more, but he knew he wasn't going to meet them through Thor. So, he focused on his studies so that he could get to his collge of choice in Metropolis City and get a job that would make it easier for him to find a way to do so, archaeology.

After he managed to get in the college he wanted and graduated high school, he had planned to move to the city by himself, but Thor insisted on coming along with his little brother, not completely comfortable in his small little town. And so Locke moved into a room in an apartment with Thor, bringing along the hammer should Thor have the courage to try it later, as well as keep an eye on it. And thus the start of his more chaotic, but fulfilling, life.

To his surprise, it wasn't long before he found a friend in college, hitting it off rather easily with a woman named Sieglinde Lane in their shared business classes and finding out she, and her parents, were his and Thor's neighbors. It took just as long to find himself saving people and stopping crimes in between all the stuff he did for college. And it was even shorter to end up saving Sieglinde in his superhero persona, the woman also having his bad habit of wanting to save people however she can, and having her dub him, Trickster, for the media outlets to call him in the news.

From there, even more things happened. Locke and Sieglinde grew closer to the point of dating and Locke eventually revealing his identity as Trickster after she figured it out, along with him telling her about Thor. Locke had made several supervillain enemies, particularly one Lex Luthor (which was a shame since Locke admired the man even if he didn't quite agree with him). And, most of all, helped Thor regain his powers as the Norse God of Thunder and he got to see Asgard for the first time when his brother took him back with him. There, after some reacquainting, Frigga told him the entire truth of why she sent him to Earth, even if she feared that he wouldn't take it well that she did it that way. To which Locke hugged her and simply said,

"Thank you, Mother."

From there, Locke visited Asgard often as he could as well as Smallville and got closer with his other adoptive mother, Frigga, studying magic with her while studying for his double major in entrepreneurship and counselling, switching from anthropology, and taking internships for counselling. Thor decided to stay in Asgard to learn how to be a better king, but still made trips to visit Locke and Sieglinde on Earth. And Locke continued to act as Trickster in between all of that, having a new look and gear thanks to Frigga, often times having to do crunch time with college assignments because the things he dealt with. He did try and see if he could reconnect with his Jotun father and siblings, but after they made it very clear they didn't care about him anymore, he stopped his attempts at being family and only ever sees them whenever his other father, Odin, wishes for him to join Thor in his meetings with the giants.

Now, having graduated with his masters, he has since started up his own private practice as a professional counsellor after getting his license, helping people both as himself and as Trickster. His relationship with Sieglinde is still going strong, his love having since also making headway as a private investigator (which is a bonus for him since that means he can have help investigating things). And in between all that he makes time for his family in both Smallville and Asgard, kept in touch with his friends Peter and Lisa who are doing well and been planning on proposing to Sieglinde soon.

Of course with a superhero's life as happy as this, something is going to throw a wrinkle in it somehow.

All right! I'm done! Hopefully it checks out. I'll of course change anything if need be.

Looks rather good; a few times I thought I noticed holes, but they were explained later, so clearly well thought out.
He is understandably OP given the source material, but I'm wondering if we can take the magic down just a smidge? For example you mention that the glamor doesn't effect clothes and then go on to say the illusion magic make it irrelevant. But instead of taking any magic powers away, I propose a limit on how many magical effects can be in place at once (obviously this doesn't effect the bracelet or jacket's base enchantments, only charms like illusions put on them), maybe two. This means he'll sometimes have to make choices on if it's worth dropping one spell to do another, and obviously glamor only takes up one while in civilian form.

So you mean that he can't, for example if he only has "two slots", if he keeps up his glamour, he can only also either use illusions or ice magic or shapeshifting but not all three or four if he keeps up his glamour? That also means if he's shapeshifted he can only either use his ice magic or his illusion magic, as anothrr example, right? Assuming that's what you mean and I interpreted that right, I'm fine with that.

I just did the edits (it's under Frost Giant/Jotun Biology, so you don't have to look too much for it). Is it okay now?
