wynaut ftw!
Wow, it feels good to be back here.

Anyways.

What do people feel about the previous games' music? Is it just too repetitive, too beepy, all right? And would you like to see the same music/ same type of music in D/P? Or different music?

Also, discuss what you think about the bike music. It's driving me insane.

I think the music should vary with the type of area you are in. For instance, the ocean might be a cheery, catchy collection of beeps. Or New Mauville (or whatever the underground place is called) might be no music at all, but every ten seconds, a static-like sounding noise could occur.

Thoughts?

Back I guess??
I think that the actual musics are OK (except bike and PC) but the battle music can´t be changed!! they´re awesome and if change, I´ll wait the improvment.

i hope they just make it more complex; no big changes. ive always liked the music in the games. its good for a handheld
I with Buttersgirl on this. Although, I personnal play the game till the end with the sound on. Then turn it off once I've completed it.

The music is rather good IMO. Heck, even a few old digital pieces like RBY's Champion Battle and Credits Music is MUCH better than the "remasterized" FR/LG counterparts...

The only music that's always been annoying, and it'll always be most likely, is the Bike Music, and gladly, it wears off when you change Route/City.

I don't think they should make a severe change in this regard. It's OK as is, and there's no need for some orchestrated or long piece at all. It's this simple music which imprints most of the feeling in those games. :)

I liked the E4, Archie/Maxie, the Regis and the Kyogre/Groudon/Rayquaza battle music in R/S. Also, the FR/LG trainer battle music kicked *****.

Yea, whenever I need to bike somewhere, I start at the beginning of a new route. 0!0

But w/e.

Also, during the Elite Four/Champion process, I'm pretty sure the battle music for the EF is more...solemn? I dunno. And for Steven, I think, It was more rapid and high-pitched. I think they should do that for different trainers? Maybe. Like the music when battling a Dragon Master would be much different then when battling an Aroma Lady.

I like the particular genre of music in the Pokemon series, however it may be categorized. Just make sure it keeps that adventurous feel for the routes and a catchy tune for the cities and monuments and I'll be satisfied.

Though, I wouldn't mind seeing some influences from traditional Mexican music and samba pieces within the tunes.

And Pandough 10, I fully agree with the sentiments in your sig (including the Sloganizer quote I'm viewing, <<Pandough 10. Impossible is nothing.>>)

Music I do not like:

Surf/Bike Ride Music

Ruby/Sapphire Music (worse than the originals)

Cave Music

Ghost Tower/Lavender Town

Change these to better tunes and I'll be fine.

I liked the Miror B. music in both Colo and XD. How about switching some of that to D/P? It would be a nice bike, surf or battle music(for stuff like E4 and legends.).

No complaints about the actual music, but I would really like a bigger variety. After a while even the best songs get painfully annoying.

Not the color
Music on GBA was way better then GBC or pocket, was fine. Maybe a little more better.

my all time favorite music is the gold/silver trainer battle music.

I've always liked the music. But I want for it to be of better quality, it's too midi. I liked the champion music in FR/LG, the Rayquaza theme, and the credits theme form R/S, along many others. I hope they do remakes of the best songs.
But please, I want Sound Test. It should be accesed from the main menu once you unlocked it from some part in the game. Of course, you must have heard the songs before they're available. And every song should have a name (like in Fire Emblem) and not only a number (like in Golden Sun).ç
The sound effects aren't very necesary, nobody hears them, so only with the songs, I'll be happy.

I Agree with Better quality. For example:
Cave should be all quiet like Pandough said and Water Liquing every ten seconds and Pokemon noises.
The Bike should Vary With Cities, and the Pokemon Center music should stay the same. The Battle music should be more exciting and rare and shiny pokemons should have something different to them.

Yes, I agree with the last one, don't know the shinies, but rare ones should be. Like Chimecho, Relicanth, Feebas, etc...
Or this one: You divide the map in three parts, not in the map's shape but in how the adventure goes. And each part has a different music (wild and trainer musics, I mean), so in advanced places, the music is more serious, not that "how to play" tunes that were in the first parts. I mean dividing the map and not the progress, because, for example, in Golden Sun 2, after you get to don't know what part of the game, the battle music is way darker, but if you go back and battle easy enemies, the music is still the dark one. Or at least I think it was like that.

Little bit off topic, but For the Touch Screen while you ride a bike or whateve r you could have the map on top showing where you going and where you are and i dont think the Map's music should change at all.Just do it like usual and For the pokemon's happiness or sadness you could have different noises. For example if your pokemon is Happy you should listen to a more clear and happier sound ans the same thing goes to sad.If the pokemon doesn't feel anything it should sound normal, with no changes in it's "voice" whatsoever.

I totally agree with you there, Light Wolf. There should be a sound test of some sort that is available in the Pokemon Centers (in-game) like in a jukebox. As you progress through the game, maybe you can achieve music CDs or a type of items that unlocks part of the jukebox. What would be interesting is that AFTER you complete the game and you have either the R/S/E or FR/LG version inserted into the GBA slot, you can upload music into the jukebox from those games.
