Okay, I suppose there will be one final post in this thread, or a few more, if another mod/SMod so chooses to post in this thread or open it in response. I came to this thread not on my own, but a few people brought this thread to my attention. In the end, this thread should remain closed, however, the things that lead up to its closure could've gone better.
I took the time to go through all 400+ posts of this thread, and look at Maveryck85's art in this thread, and on deviantART. I will honestly say that his art is decent. I find it interesting. There are, however, flaws that obviously can detract from quality or people liking. The thing about it, though, is that these flaws can be corrected in time, and his art improved.
I will say that a lot of the heads do look like they are copy/pasted or traced, but there can be very reasonable explanations for that. Perhaps his style is sort of "one way" or whatever you'd say, and all his heads look a like. Or perhaps he isn't that skillful in drawing heads, and hasn't bothered attempting to do many on his own as of yet. As for May's waist, I've seen girls in real life with similar proportions (not including the head of course), and it seems reasonably acceptable.
Anyway, I could go on and on, but instead I'm gonna go over 19 select posts that caught my attention throughout this thread, most of them recent. (note, as I review them again, I might remove them, so the actual count may be less than 19, but the initial count was 19)

Why shouldn't he listen to people who criticize it? There is a distinct difference between criticizm and flaming/bashing, though sometimes people mix them together, criticizm should be taken lightly and in a positive way. It should also inspire you to be better at what you're trying to do. Never settle and think what you're doing is "good enough" there are always ways to improve on what you do. Sometimes you need other people to let you know what those improvements could be, and sometimes those words may be shocking, but in the end, if you listen to them, and build off of them, you'll become better at what you do than before.

May is WAY to thin, the bulk of her body could not be supported by a waste that thin, she would break in half like a toothpick.
Also, May is 10, she would never ever ever ever ever EVER have boobs that size.
The lineart is sloppy in areas.
And for those immature people who I know will flame me, sorry, but I draw art daily so don't expect me to fawn over some
half assed art in which it looks like the faces and bodies are traced.
The first bolded part in this quote; That wasn't needed. Sure, it was blunt, and moderately true, but know that people will also react to the things you say based on how you say it and not what you mean. A person is more likely to react positively and accept the advice if worded such as "Some of your pictures have flaws in anatomy. Some limbs are bent at odd angles, and in some cases are odd sizes. Perhaps you could check an anatomy book or compare it to other anime sources". Now, it does make it more wordy, but it also makes the chances of any negative retaliation next to nothing.
The second bolded part, the underlined part in particular. Uncalled for. Not criticism. Unhelpful.

It's understandable that everyone has their different tastes, but if you don't like Mav's art then why come here in the first place?

Plus, how can they be traces when almost all of pictures May isn't even doing somthing she normally does in the show. Like do you see may with a gun in the show. underline: lots of people agreeing =/= right. Sometimes the populous needs to see things from a different point of view. When I go to an art thread, its only natural that I read the comments of other users. So reading all of the comments, I expected fantastic art, but what I saw rather disappointed me.
I'll admit, the coloring is nicely done, and smooth. But the lines are rather rough around the edges, and her anatomy is way off, even for anime style. The faces are traced, they look no different then the actual anime May. The bodies look to be traced from the lame attempt at someone trying to do human anatomy.
I'm sick of seeing truely talented artists go unnoticed because of a fanbase that prefers half assed art over true talent.
Know that I have nothing against you, Mav.
If you actually read what I say, then maybe you can improve.
And thank you Crystal Clair for actually seeing what I see, and having the guts to come out and say so.
bold: though, I generally understood what you were trying to get at, not all people will understand your approach to what you're trying to say. You need to say things in a manner that won't insult anyone, no matter who they are, even if you feel that it shouldn't be taken that way, some people will.
underline: perhaps the best thing to do for those artists that you feel are better would be to ask them to put samples in your signature and such, so people see it more publicly and get to know it. There are many things that can be done.

Just because Kirby's criticism isn't the same as yours, doesn't mean you can be asses to her. Sorry to burst all of your bubbles, but all of Mav's art is simply copy/paste. Copies a body of someone else and pastes the head of a different character on it. Or have we all not seen the extremely lazy pictures of the same pose and body shape, different clothes and head that he's done? His coloring's really nice, but really, most of you are just defending the art cause you get off to it.
Kirby showed me the pic she linked to earlier in the thread. The waist IS too thin and looks like her poor body could collapse within itself any moment. Her arm is bent in an odd angle as well.
This is why I don't come to the art section very often. Some of you attempt being witty and acting smarter than others when someone has something negative to say about a piece of artwork that's CONSTRUCTIVE all while beating off and claiming the artwork and person are flawless. Good job, guys. Now I'm even more sure that SPPf is filled with the most DUMBEST people I've ever seen on the net.

As for your art, faces are ok, but they just all look the same (note: I'm not accusing you of tracing and whatnot). And to be honest anatomies are way off and colouring hasn't improved much from your first picture to your final one. And do try to at least ATTEMPT your own backgrounds. Stock photos aren't appropriate.

As someone who used to be an artist, I find it very annoying to get any kind of remark, positive or negative, that wasn't constructive. It's also annoying and very rude to insult someone just for giving some kind of helpful criticism.
Sorry to say, but my statement is correct. Some of the people at this forum ARE incredibly stupid. Being an SMod, I've been around the place and would know what I'm talking about. Afterall, I do have to clean up messes that members leave around.
The very fact that YOU can't even take criticism shows that you aren't even serious about being an artist and are on the same maturity level as your fanbase. Guess what, kiddies. Not everyone's gonna like your art, nor will they have the same opinions as you. The only way that'll change is if you LISTEN and take in mind what others have to say, rather than just blowing up on them like you and the others have.
underline: I can't say that I've cleaned up as many messes as you have, however, I can say that I've seen my fare share of stupidity around, and with the exception of one or two members in this thread, I see no real stupidity. Just an artist, and his fans, and a few critics. However, the artist's fans defended him against the critics, and in my opinion, their reactions were semi-legitimately provoked. However, that's no excuse for them happening, but then again, the provokation shouldn't have happened either.

As for Mav, it really is too bad that you're deciding to stop. Though not perfect, I found your art to have something interesting and different to it, ignoring the 'flaws' of course.
