my scanner kinda messed it up; the colors are way too light so you can hardly even see them but I kinda liked this one so.

As you wish.
Ok, maybe this will be a lil' rough, but, i think that you must know this...

First of all, take your time when drawing. Never speed up things, cuz' the only thing that matters when you're doing this is time. And effort.
When i was 17, i began to draw. Take it easy, you'll be very good, but you can't do anything without practice and study and a lot of hard work. I mean, if you really wanna be a pencilller or any kind of illustrator, you must study first. Study a lot, at every opportunity.

Check out the anathomy, Toriyama's technique and the general manga technique. Maybe you're the best in your block, or the best in your house, but always will be someone better than you. So, study and practice.

This reminds me of my own very early pics.
Keep working, and don't forget that HARD WORK is everything.

SURPRISE BUTTSECKS
Guy on the left: "Ha ha ha! My arm and hand look like a loaf of french bread and my chin is missing!" Try not to rush, and use some references when drawing to get general proportions and poses.
And, no. Akira Toriyama is not a great artist. Toh Ubukata is. Pick up Pilgrim Jäger and see for yourself.

I wasn't trying to say that Toriyama was a great artist.
If Ultimate Goku wants to draw DBZ charas and so, he MUST learn to draw like Toriyama.
And if you really want a great artist, check out www.furiae.com, the art of Linda Bergkvist.
But i can't suggest to learn to draw like her cuz' it's above anyone learning how to draw.
And excuse me (again), but my english sucks...

Overly Rugged
You definately look like someone who is in the growing phase, there's an inconsistancy in you work that shows expirementation. Keep it up and soon you'll start getting a feel for it.

Right now I'd consider praticing mainly on the chin and neck relationship, make the jaw more prominate. Then I think your drawing the muscles a little too free hand, check to make them fit proportionately.

I have a feeling you could improve fast, so go go practice what you need too, then draw up some new sketches so we can see how you improved.

I'm impressed with the artwork on the muscles though : P I have problems drawing them properly, probably because I never go into drawing muscles lol.

I see you've gone into DBZ, but I think you still need some more practice, not bad just now, but keep working to it, you'll get better at it ; )

[OFF TOPIC]

And looking at the above post, we shouldn't start an argument here, but you can't relate this art to realism since this is Anime, and it goes more to Abstract.

And every artist has their own styles, so you shouldn't list artists and compare them : P To me I'm not into the DBZ style but still know what it's getting to.

If that's all anime/manga type of work you've seen, go to the japanese server, you'll be in for a shock.
