- My Banners

Been playing with photoshop a lot lately ever since I quit playing computer games. So, yea, been doing some banners and I'm here to present them to you.

In Order of Creation:

Done by trying to follow K-os's Tutorial. I think something went wrong somewhere in between though.

Done by following Magne's Tutorial. Turned out pretty well.

A really simple banner I did. I wanted to see how my One Piece renders would look in a sig and I was trying to make it look like a wanted poster. So... does it look like one to you?

Ties with the Diamond & Pearl banner for one of my best.

My latest. The text were a pain in the butt.

Now, I know I can improve, so comment away!

I'm glad you tried some tutorials, especially mine. XD

You have a problem with your renders. In the DP one, I can't even tell what's in your banner, because it's too bright and crowded. Give your renders space, and and remember to erase parts that don't look good when you set Guassian Blurred layers to Lighten.

Work on text. Simple IS best. Look around, and check for text tutorials and how to make your text look good.

Give borders, find C4D's, and learn how to resize!

Thanks for the advice, Magne. Heeded your advice to produce this:

Any better?

It's a bit better.

First of all, the render is ... blurred and very hard to see. The "Evil" text is wandering off. Never make your Outer Glows so obvious, especially if it looks yellow.

And remember to brighten and darken spots you find important to be light/dark.

I smudged the render a bit, that must be why it's blurred. With regards to the outer glow, I'll keep that in mind. Once again, thanks, Magne.

I'm wondering why Magne is the only one replying to my thread >.>

Meh. I wonder why too. None of my business.

You smudged it, and then you should probably set it to Lighten. If not, bring your render back up, and feather it 10-20 px.

Cheer up, I like em'
I see you improved in your banners lately, you can try out some borders that match with the banner instead of the standard black border.
The human torch one is nicely done but you should give the render a bit space as the whole banner is focusing on the text which is a bit big.

Thanks for the comment.

As for the human torch banner, I did try that but it'd look weird and harder to blend with the background if I moved it. In fact, I'm sure you can distinctly see the line where it cuts off his arm.

Yeah I see it, you could have just brushed it a bit to blend it in the background.

Wow, definately a lot of potential in you. Just the fact that you improved that much in three days is great - keep it up and I'm sure you'll do really well.

...However. Text is a huuge problem in these banners, it seems as if you copy and pasted WordArt... really tacky. Try and find some tuts on text and keep at it. Incidentally, your cable sig would be inifitely better if you got rid of the text and improved the colors - try some gradient maps on low blending modes, and then some Photo Filters.

Thank you all.

I am looking through a lot of text tutorials. I just can't seem to find one that fits.
