Hi. I've been posting here for a while already, so I guess there's not much point to this. I generally hang around the Anime section and the Brock club, though will sometimes stop by the fanfic and shipping sections, too. I generally don't make it a habit to start threads, but since everyone's doing it and there's no single sticky for newbie intros, I figured I'd follow the crowd.
As you can see, I live in Hawaii and have done so for most of my life. I guess you could say I was raised here, though I was born on the Mainland, what we call the contiguous continental U.S. I'm interested in cultural anthropology and plan to try to get into library science as a career.
I find the atmosphere of the forums is friendly and people are always willing to help out a new person as long as they pose their questions intelligently. At least, I haven't gotten any frustrated answers to my questions, even though they must be fairly common.
I'm here pretty much because I like the anime. I'm a totally blind member so I can't play the games or read the manga or play with trading cards, unfortunately. That said, I don't really have informed opinions on Pokemon because I can only go by the show, which I hear is largely inaccurate anyway. Still, I love the plushies a lot. It's the only way I have to get a sense of what the creatures look like.
