Blast Burn. Blast Burn is really good. Dont double post and Charizard cant learn any moves that are good againt Water so I suggest Dragon Claw/Return/Brick Break.

^No. Flamethrower and Fire Blast do more damage over two turns than Blast Burn does in one.

Charizard@Leftovers
-Belly Drum/Swords Dance/Dragon Dance
-Earthquake
-Rock Slide/Aerial Ace
-Fire Blast

^Overheat forces a switch which gets rid of the attack boost vital to Charizard's success.

Try this:
(Since it's brave nature which is +Att, -Sdp)
Flamethrower/Fire Blast**
Dragon claw or hidden power*
Brick Break
Earthquake

*If it's hidden power happened to be a grass or electric type, you may want to use it.
**You cannot have both flamethrower and fire blast for your same charizard.

ARGH!! NO!!! not earthquake,Itaught it to my Blaziken. and why not use Flamethrower and Fire Blast on the same Charizard. My freind did and he got his to Level 100.And I taught Dragon Claw to my Latios.

The only way charizard can beat a pure water type is to have it's hidden power to be either grass or electric. It also has to be quite effective as well.

1) Since this is emerald you can make use of pickup ability from a lv. 90-100 pokemon (if you have one, otherwise dig should should be effective, since on the first turn, it can evade all moves except for earthquakes, WHICH charizard is immune to, and the computer has no common sense switching)

2)Using two attacks with the same type is just waisting your move slot. Except when the attack is not meant for attacking (like rapid spin) or has a fixed damage (like seismic toss)

3)Then chack it's hp type.

Flamethrower and Fire Blast is redundant. You'll only need one.

Without EQ,

Charizard@Leftovers
-Belly Drum/Dragon Dance/Swords Dance
-Rock Slide
-Aerial Ace
-Fire Blast
