my first monotype team (electric)

this is the first time i had ever really come across monotype battling. after looking at the rules i decided to go for my favourite type: electric. one of the reasons i picked this type was that it can counter rain teams and aa lot of my team are immune to ground( boo!) so here it is:

-nasty plot/ice beam
-volt switch/thunder

prankster taunt lead. his first role is to taunt opponents out of boosting or stealth rocks etc. after wards either nasty plot volt switch (not taunt bait) or use rain dance to increase accuracy of thunder and team suppport/anti weather move. thunder or volt switch are stab ice beam is coverage and nasty plot is availible if to boost ally Sp.atk.

toxic staller, Zapdos plays as defensively as possible and starts out with toxic to cause increasing damage and force switches. roost is recovery and causes zapdos to lose both of its weaknessess(rock and ice). protect is there to stall for damage and health and finally thunderbolt is to prevent taunt bait and to catch out thins like skarmory etc.

my main choice specs sweeper,trick is to hopefully lock opponent into something useless(bulk up etc) or force the switch, thunder is most pwerful stab and in rain 100% accuracy so great. also hydro pump is there to catch out unsuspecting grounds/rocks and finally hidden power ice causes a peusdo bolt beam and to catch out dragons alot.

magnezone choice scarf is surprisingly fast and with its great Sp.atk can go for the sweep. thunderbolt is stab but could be replaced with thunder but not yet sure. flash cannon is second stab and is good to destroy hail teams and rock teams. hidden power ice gives this once again bolt beam combo and tri attack is there because i couldnt think of anything else :( due to it having a poor movepool

mixed set eelectross. thunderbolt is stab and more reliable than than wild charge. flamethrower is to annoy steels and grass types. grass knot is for bulky grouns/rocks/waters. finally dragon claw prevents it been taken out easily by blissey and deals well with dragons.

any suggestions you have will be most appreciated and you can be as harsh as nessecary

drop rain dance on thunderus and use nasty plot ice beam and thunderbolt,i would drop the scarf on magnazone for air ballon and if you want you could drop tri attack for sub/protect to give you a turn to stall

Zapdos wants Heat Wave somewhere, since as i understand it's for doubles? Since you run no Thunder, it should mean that you are going to choose Zapdos out of Rain Dance too. Elektross don't need +speed nature, since he gonna outspeed almost nothing. So you can run more defensively or mixed sets. You can use dragon tail to force the annoying Blissey's out.On Lanturn try Scald for added burn bonus. I don't know i like your team. Making one myself, since i became so interested in mono teams. first of all its for singles so no heat wave, i agree about eelectross but i dont wat to use scald on lanturn unless to burn a physical sweeper

also i was thinking of this set to replace my magnezone/lanturn/eelectross.

zapdoes is really good if you can get one with heat wave not just for doubles but for singles to it gets rid of steel types that would try to wall you

Go with both hidden power ice and thunder because if this is your only pokemon left to battle and you didn't have any other type of move and a ground type came into battle, you'd be screwed, and since you have rain dance, it'll keep thunder from missing.

Like i said about thundurus, if u don't have any other type of move and a ground type comes into action, you're screwed. heat wave is a move that always works well with zapdos

magnet rise will prevent magnezone from taking damage from ground type attacks which are usually a big threat to magnezone.

electross does more better with physical attacks. you be able to take pokemon more easily this way.

with signal beam, you have chance of confusing your opponent's pokemon, that gives time to get your HP back up when it's low.
