My First Sprite

Hi, im new to these forums, and after reading several turorials, i hae come up with a sprite.
I am planning on a revamp next. I spent arund 20 minutes on this.

Yes, that is my first sprite. and that question, is it a test or do you really want to know? i replaced the shades with other shades of the other pokemon, simple. And whoa! 5 posts in 10 minutes!

thats a great sprite for 20 minutes the only problems are the tail and the right eye has no pupil

Did you use the eraser. Because 20 min is so long your using something something else.

Update: shellder gold revamp (another first)

And no, i just spend as long as i think i should, i go through a few different poses first also. i had a version with kyogres
wings, but i thought it would look better if i drew claws n deoxys anyway. Why all the questions??

Seriously, that's your FIRST sprite? It's amazing! You're the best beginner spriter I've ever seen, because no one is as good as you with their first sprite!

0-o;; That's youre first sprite? It looks pretty good, even though it's pretty simple (i think the color scheme is what makes it look good, but thats just me ;p)

The revamp could use a >tiny< bit of work though. Is the shell supposed to be dithered? 0-o

Ah well, you have the makings of a good spriter

That's your first sprite? I like it, actually. Sort of just a recolor, but it's nice. The only thing that doesn't seem to look right is its right eye. At first I thought it was a mouth until I decided to zoom in on it. xD

After comparing your revamp to the original, I think it came out well.

Anyways, Kyogre, these are very impressive sprites. The Deoxys and Kyogre looks simple enough to do, though you make it seem very impressive and extravagant, really. I don't know how to explain it, but it just seems glorified, like it's more than it is.

The Shellder is also extremely good for your very first revamp. It seems very 3-D and almost good enough to be third generation, imo. The only thing is that I think the surface of the shell would look smoother if you didn't use half-tone shading, unless you weren't going for that. I would also comment on the fact that you didn't use part black outlines, but the sprite seems perfectly fine without them, so it seems unneeded.



Luner~*~Eclipse: If you don't know how to sprite, read the tutorials instead of asking the spriter and filling the thread with SPAM. You can figure out how Kyogre did it by yourself, but if you want to learn to sprite, then just read the tutorials.

Kyogre, just ignore Eclipse, he's just being idiotic. >>
