My first Town- in 4th gen. format

Random sprite rips, recolors and grabastic paint skills, coupled with an retardedly large file make me just want to scream. It wasn't worth the time it took to load. All you did was some copy and paste, and some spraypaint. That's not skill; that's just... that's just terrible. I'm sorry. >_>

If anyone uses dial up this would take at least 20 mins to load. You do know that its against the rules to post images saved as .bmp, correct?
As for the town itself, very little effort and all of the buliding look either poorly resized or fuzzy. Ah, try looking for a town making tut.

What is 4th gen format? Anyway, there is no sturucture to this town. All you did was use colors and spray them onto a big green blob. then you cut and paste some things and one of the buildings is hand drawn, terrible i'm afraid. I'm sorry if I seem cruel, but its the truth. Might I suguest you use a template for making towns so everything looks more professional.

I'm guessing you used default colors and the spray thing in paint. Never use it again . Also as stated before, bmp. is against the rules, so don't save it as that again either. Oh, and maybe you should read a tutorial or two before you start trying to make something. Trust me, it helped me.... a lot.

To put it short, start over. Try reading some tutorials before you start a bad habit. Also, the spray paint can is to be Never used in spriting at all. also try using the eyedorpper tool and taking colors instead of using those crappy colours at the bottom of the screen. You're off to an average start, after about two weeks of practice you should be on your to making great towns, even if they are still simple.

I like your idea, doing a 4th generation style town. Unfortunately, the only screencaps to rip sprites from that are available are in crappy jpeg. And not too many building sprites are available. I actually dont know what to suggest for you. I would've told you to just use a regular tileset like regular spriters do but then again that's been sooo overdone. My advice, keep searching for 4gen screens (try the mysterious dungeon games), make the best even though they're jpeg and learn how to cut tiles......

Could you tell me why you have a nurse on the roof? I'm sorry, but that is just the worst use of spray I have ever seen. The sprites clash, so use building overworlds from the dungeon game and DO NOT use real pictures. Go to the sprite resources thread for sprites, by the way.

This is THE worst town I've ever seen. Let me point out why:

Defaut paint colors are used here, which are horribly neon-like.
You used the spray paint tool. NEVER use the spray paint tool ever.
The people are .jpged,
People are 4th gen style, while buildings are 3rd,
It has an insanely long load time,
Buildings are enlargened improperly, and have blurry stuff around them,
And the people have pieces of green around them.

It's against the rules if you post the image, as that will slow down the page. But if you post a link, it will not. It will just be like any other link. If you post a link to a .bmp then it's really the viewer's desicion/fault if they want to open the large file, especially with a warning inluded >___>

My eyes! they burn! First off how the hell is that fourth gen? It's barely better than Red and Green! The spray can=No. I don't even have paint and I know that. The nurse hat has the wrong perspective, and why would it say "pokemon center" on both floors? the building all have crappy white outlines, and mixing sprites from diffrent styles is just wrong.

You can actually use the spraycan for dirt in R/B/Y devamps, though it's better to make it yourself.
As far as the town goes... There is a tutorial thread stickied to the top of the page that should have this kind of tut on how to make maps. Read it, it'll do you good.
