NEW OU TEAM~*~*~

While I do have another team up for rating right now, I have been pondering over this team for quite some time. I have taken a lot from what I have learned so far in my recent studies and compiled a list of powerful OU pokes. This team is a LITTLE gimmicky, but don't judge it off that.

AT A GLANCE:
;412; Lead
;129; Physical Sweeper
;201-m; Special Sweeper
;068; Special Wall/Staller
;225; Physical Wall/Rapid Spinner
;235; Mixsweeper

burmy1.jpg

Burmy "BringerOfHell"@Flame Orb
Adamant, Shed Skin
252 Att, 252 Spe, 4 Hp
~Protect
~HP-Poison
~Tackle
~Snore

This is a monsterous lead. With Tackle and HP-Poison I can hit hard from both special and physical sides, easily crippling common lead threats such as Bronzong (who is 36HKO'd by HP-Poison) and Gengar. Protect is an obvious choice, protecting me from a potentially vicious attack will help him keep alive. Trick leads are countered completely by Flame Orb while giving Burmy plenty of speed, enough to outrun Jolly Scizor, T-Tar, and Timid Magnezone along with a few other names. The reason I chose him to be my lead is simply because his signature move: Snore. If a Hypnosis lead comes out, I can deal some pretty good damage and this makes him a psuedo-status absorber. He even 20HKO's common lead Crobat with it, making him quite the sweeper. Nothing more needs to be said about Burmy other than he's a monsterous lead in every aspect.

magikarp.png

Magikarp "BestOUEver"@Choice Band
Flamboyant, Swift Swim
252 Att, 69 Def, 184 Spe
~Splash
~Tackle
~Flail
~Bounce

Yes. That's right. I got my hands on a BounceKarp. Anyone who knows OU obviously knows this is a force to be reckoned with, BARELY falling short of Uber since Substitute/Mud Sport Feebas is a step beyond this guy. Obviously Splash is there to counter common stallers, having tons of PP. Tackle and Flail are there to give me options when Karp comes right out or after I've taken a few dozen hits or so. Bounce is obviously the main reason to use this set. With a base 10 Att, Bounce makes Magikarp an offensive powerhouse. With his attack hitting a massive 195 from the Choice Band boost, he can potentially 3HKO standard Sp.D Blissey with SR support (I'm not making this up). Obviously BounceKarp is a wall breaker of epic proportions.

201_Unown.gif

Unown "EvilFate"@Metronome
Adamant, Levitate
252 Att, 252 Charisma, 4 Hp
~HP-Normal

I know it's hard to IV breed to get HP-Normal, but it is so worth it on this guy. He may only have one attack, however it makes Taunt users pointless against my team and he makes a good special sweeper for late game. Levitate allows him to switch into attacks like Fire Blast and Outrage. With HP-Normal, this guy has great potential since no one expects it. They send in Salamence and WHAM! 3HKO with Life Orb recoil and SR support. Easily this guy is my main special sweeper and does quite well. His Encore weakness may make him a little risky to many, but I like him.

ani068.gif

Machamp "Unhittable"@Sticky Barb
Emo, No Guard
252 Magic, 252 Hp, 4 Luck
~Double Team
~Meditate
~Attract
~Mud Slap

This guy is just an awesome staller. I originally got this idea from a suggestion from Dugtrio, however I have taken it to the next level. Double Team is the staple move here, all my attacks landing while I am free to avoid every attack. Obviously Meditate is to boost my attack after I have boosted my evasion thoroughly. Attract is a sure fire, 100% way to get me a 50% dodge rate on foes such as Magnezone, Ditto, and Electrode. Mud Slap is really the kicker, giving me even MORE evasion since I am lowering their accuracy as well. This also takes huge chunks out of Heatrans that want to switch in, a solid 7HKO. This set is made to stall out any poke, and so far it has worked flawlessly.

Delibird.gif

Delibird "SpinSpin"@Toxic Orb
Rambunctious, Vital Spirit
252 Def, 252 Dexterity, 4 Intelligence
~Rapid Spin
~Present
~Sleep Talk
~Defog

This guy is my Rapid Spin support and a solid physical wall. With a base 45 Def stat, only Explosion from a stage 6 Lickilicky will leave a dent in this defensive beast. With Rapid Spin, I can hit Ghost types that want to switch in on this guy with solid damage and prevent any Wrap Shuckle sets that would otherwise give my team immense trouble. Present is there for the power hit, obviously no one will see it coming and with base power of potentially 40 and the ability to heal your opponent, this move cripples foes who would try to break through him. Sleep Talk is to help him with annoying foes that would use moves such as Sleep Powder to set up on him. Defog is obviously to help my Machamp set up, giving him extra evasion for his set to work effectively. Kind of like a team support role.

Smeargle2.gif

Smeargle "MonkeySee"@Black Sludge
***got, Own Tempo
252 Att, 252 Sp.A, 4 Hp
~Sketch
~Mirror Move
~Copycat
~Mimic

This is my mixsweeper, as you can obviously see. All you have to do is attack him with one wrong move and he goes to town. His two attacking stats both hit 139, so obvious to say not too many things in OU can stand more than one hit. Stall pokes are also just completely eaten by this guy. Sketch allows me to take one move and use it forever and I slapped on Mimic in case I need another move such as Scratch to aid my sweep. Mirror Move and Copycat are two big roles on this set, both contributing completely different strategies. Mirror Move can use moves on Ghost types while Copycat gets a STAB, so obviously they cover each other well. Needless to say this guy puts the cherry on the sundae that is my team of epicness.

THREAT COUNTDOWN:
#1- Scizor: Pffff every poke on my team can take it with ease. NEXT!
#2- Heatran: Obviously my Machamp can take it and my BounceKarp isn't even 4HKO'd by Explosion, so I'm set.
#3- Salamence: My Unown takes care of it easily.
#4- Tyranitar: Can you say it with me? BounceKarp
#5- Gyarados: Burmy can easily handle any Gyarados that comes my way with Tackle.
#6- Zapdos: My Burmy, once again, counter every possible form of this little piece of crap.
#7- Blissey: Duh. BounceKarp.
#8- Infernape: Smeargle eats this guy really fast.
#9- Lucario: Smeargle again and my Machamp can outstall a stall Lucario set.
#10- Gengar: One word: Unown.
_
_So, what do you all think? Obviously my team is a monster that no other OU party could resist. I have however noticed I am having trouble with Mankey on this team, it currently holding the 464th spot on OU, so needless to say I'll be seeing much more of it. Thank God my Delibird fends of Wrap Bellsprout. Any suggestions?

I really don't know what to say about this team. The fact that there is little to no central coherent strategy to this team is enough to warrant a revamp, but this team has absolutely no way of covering the most common threats out there, be it with resistances, predictions, or god forbid, all out walling.

You will rethink your team and try again.

Someone had to quote this... It shouldn't have been me but it was.

EDIT: This team is also weak to Alakazam if your opponent has a grass or electric attack...

You really need a Metapod counter. It could stall you forever with a combination of String Shot and Harden. I suggest maybe a Venonat with PoisonPowder. At least it nullifies the Leftovers.

This team is Choice Band Oddish weak.
DANG IT! I KNEW I forgot something... Maybe a Splash Hoppip set?

Hmmm, Metapod is a vaible threat nowadays, since it's really one of the best Scizor counters out there... I will take it into consideration.

EDIT: Does anyone know a sure fire way to counter Specs Wobbuffet? It's way too good of a special sweeper. Choice Band Ledyba could also cause some problems, along with Snore Caterpie. Physical Wall Abra also poses a problem to my sweepers. Suggestions?

DracoFist FTW
If Covet Zigzagoon steals your Metronome, you're in trouble. I'd suggest changing Unown's HP to Ghost so you can OHKO it.

My 252 Charisma EV's prevent this from happening, however if it were to steal my Burmy's Flame Orb I would be in trouble. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.

I personally feel that Machamp is rather redundant. Magikarp is too awesome for you to have Machamp on your team. To fix that CB Oddish issue, use the following:

Banette (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Insomnia
EVs: 204 HP/52 Def/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Icy Wind
- Embargo
- Foresight
- Hyper Beam

Embargo prevents the use of Choice Band, which is good for stopping CB Return. Icy Wind is so you can slow down your opponent, and is also a decent attack for combatting Oddish. Foresight is for the Ghosts that resist Hyper Beam.

The 204 HP EV's are for Leftovers recovery.

Yeah, what are you doing? No honestly. Why make a thread like this?

Oh, come on. Don't insult our intelligence by pretending this is anything but a gimmick thread. This is like the crap Blue Harvest used to post.

ETA: Screw you, Reno, I locked it
